Job Description

Senior Business Intelligence Analyst

(This is a Hybrid position and preference will be given to GTA based applicants!)


The Role

The Finance Systems & Analytics Sr. BA serves as the business lead and administrator of financial systems including CPM and Business Intelligence databases and software owned by the FP&A department. Works collaboratively to carry out complex work to manage, support, and integrate other systems within the company with the FP&A software. Ensures efficient maintenance and operation of FP&A systems to provide optimum functionality and ensure data integrity and security. Identifies and implements process improvements while providing useful reports and data analysis.


Responsibilities:

  • Develops and documents workflow and data flow processes to create efficiency in the
  • Working closely with IVC to provide any required reporting or system integrations/reconciliations.
  • Leveraging business intelligence tools to develop analysis and reports that will assist the organization in increasing its understanding of the business and the clinics.
  • Advises and supports the FP&A leadership team in the use of technology and makes recommendations to maintain and enhance FP&A software.
  • Entrepreneurial spirit to understand and develop reporting on complex financial metrics, simplify data for analytics.
  • Extracting, compiling, segmenting, analyzing and reporting on data from the Company's financial and ERP systems
  • Proactively identifies risks and take necessary actions to provide seamless data/ system use.
  • Provides end user security management and content management while providing support of the FP&A systems.
  • Operation of the FP&A systems
  • Works on all projects related to Finance systems to ensure the preservation, security and integrity of all data.
  • Developing financial and operational metrics to assess the overall health and performance of VetStrategy's clinics.
  • Reviews financial systems for optimum performance, process improvement opportunities, integration opportunities - and potential upgrades / replacements


Background, Experience and Qualifications

  • Knowledge of research methods, data collection and sampling techniques, and statistical analysis
  • Excellent interpersonal skills
  • Post-secondary education
  • Ability to communicate (written and verbal) effectively with all levels of management.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to gather, organize and report information.
  • Ability to work independently but as a part of a team.
  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Azure
  • Advance knowledge of Vena or Khalix or Hyperion
  • Proven strong financial modeling skills.
  • Advanced knowledge of SQL
  • Three or more years of financial information systems implementation and project management
  • Advanced knowledge in MS Excel
  • Advanced knowledge of Business Intelligence tools (Power Bl, Tableau, etc)
