Senior Business Analyst (Application Development/ Regulatory Reporting)

OnX Canada is looking for a Sr BA for one of the Calgary-based client-companies. The successful candidate must be comfortable working in fast moving and complex enterprise environments. The candidate is responsible for working with business areas to clearly articulate the problem that needs to be solved, understand business requirements, and support business readiness.

Location: Calgary, Alberta / hybrid (remote is NOT possible/ must be able to work on-site on a hybrid model)

Duration: 6-12 months

Requirements:

• High level awareness of a variety of IT software development methodologies with minimum 10 years of corresponding experience

• Familiar with cloud computing applications

• Proficiency using MS-Office tools including Excel, MS-Visio, Project, and PowerPoint.

• Ability in applying business analysis methods/techniques for all phases of application development including, requirements analysis, design and development, testing, and maintenance of reports.

• Able to identify data required to inform regulatory decisions in the current and future states

• Diploma in Computer Science or equivalent education and minimum 10 years’ experience in Business Analyst roles.

• Recognized BA Certification is preferred.

• PROCSCI or ITIL certification is preferred.

• Excellent analytical skills and the ability to work with minimum supervision.

• Strong oral and written communication skills with the ability to manage and document functional/non-functional requirements.

• Strong stakeholder management skills and experience in requirements collection, development and execution of successful workshops, and meeting facilitation.

• Strong analytical skills, including ability to analyze data sources and design appropriate data presentation for diverse users.

• Excellent multi-tasking, organizational, communication and interpersonal skills are critical.

• Working with diversified internal and external stakeholders of varied levels of business knowledge and skills.

Responsibilities:

Management Plan

• Develop a data management plan to identify:

-Data required for regulatory decision-making and reporting.

-Technology solutions required to collect, analyze and store new data.

-Potential data integrity issues: Provide recommendations on ways to improve.

-Performance measures

-Regulatory performance reporting requirements

• Provide recommendations on implementation of the data management plan.

• Implement interim data management tools as required

Data Analysis:

• Prepare raw data and associated reporting, including data visualization to assess situations, provide insights to inform the development of the regulatory framework(s) for the new sectors.

• Lead the use of data in making evidence-based decisions and identify opportunities for leveraging advanced analytical and machine learning tools to achieve M.E. strategic choices.

Operational Design & Business Integration

• Using business knowledge and data expertise, advises and contributes as a subject matter expert on business processes to ensure enterprise alignment, technical solutions accurately represent business needs.

• Use advanced statistical techniques to analyze and solve business and operational challenges.
