Our client a medium sized and growing public accounting firm based in Central GTA has an exciting opportunity for a Senior Accountant to join their firm and work remote. As the Senior Accountant you will be working on Assurance Assignments under the direct supervision of Managers and Partners servicing small to medium sized both private and public companies in a broad range of industries. You will will have the opportunity to oversee entire engagements from start to finish, participating in budgeting, planning, execution, reporting and supervision of junior staff.

Summary Of Responsibilities

• Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed
• Manages allocated projects or assignments, including financial management
• Supervise and train junior and intermediate staff Maintaining professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing professional publications; establishing personal networks; participating in professional societies.
• Ability to recognize relevant financial statement issues from basic analysis
• Builds effective working relationships in assignments with operational client contacts
• Understands technical standards with the expected level of assistance and supervision
• Respond effectively to client requests and suggestions relating to an assignment
• Planning, execution and completion of audit, review and compilation files and related tax preparation and filings

Requirements

Requirements:

• CPA Designated or working towards a Canadian Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA) designation
• Proficiency in Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook
• Experience leading assurance engagements
• Possess strong file management skills and organization, able to manage multiple engagements simultaneously
• 1plus years of audit experience
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to communicate with external clients.
• Knowledge of and experience working with ASPE and IFRS
• 3 plus years of recent public accounting experience
• Experience working with accounting and tax software such as Quickbooks, Caseware, Tax Prep and Simply Accounting
• Experience in tax preparation
