Job Description
Our client is a well-established and growing CPA firm located in North York. They are a dynamic firm of professional accountants - 18 partners and 120 employees. The work primarily consists of tax, accounting and special engagements.
We are recruiting for a Senior Staff Accountant with the following:
  • Dynamic self-starter with the ability to adapt to new circumstances
  • Ability to conduct research and document findings and alternatives of the same effectively
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Ability to manage priorities

Responsibilities
Things You Might Do?
Our client's scope of service and client base is wide and diverse, and team members have the opportunity to diversify their experiences and skill sets. Your duties may include:
  • Actively participating in ongoing professional development by partaking in firm-wide learning sessions and being open-minded to constant learning and improving
  • Completing a variety of engagements assigned to you, such as T1 and T2 tax returns, Compilation, Review and Audit engagements
  • Engrossing yourself in our client's values and leadership philosophies, and guiding your everyday interaction with staff and clients using these principles
  • Meeting internal and external deadlines, while staying within the allotted time budget
Qualifications
What Might be on Your Resume?
  • In the process of obtaining your CPA designation.
  • Completion or near completion of an Accounting program at a recognized post-secondary institution.
  • Experience with CaseWare/CaseView, Taxprep, and Microsoft Office, whether in an academic or professional setting.
  • Public accounting experience ideally with a mid-size firm.
Excel Skills:
Work experience with VLOOKUP and pivot tables
