Jr. High Teacher

Start date: last week of August 2023

Duties:

Possible Course Load: Jr. High (grades 7-9) Humanities (ELA, Social) and Electives Courses

● Responsible for preparing lesson plans that meet the varied needs of the students in your courses and execute these plans with excellence and biblical integration.

● Keep an organized and orderly classroom that promotes learning

● Assess student progress and communicate efficiently with students and parents

● Report to the Secondary Principal

● Work with other teachers, the resource leader and educational assistants to support student learning

● Participate in various staff meetings, supervisions and other extracurricular duties

Qualifications/Conditions:

● Valid/current Alberta Teaching Certification in good standing

● Strong English communication skills (verbal and written)

● Strong organizational skills

● Must have a police record check with vulnerability screening on file prior to starting employment

● Must align with the mission and vision of ACA (see website)

● Experience teaching Jr. High ELA or Social courses recommended.

● Experience in music, shop or art is an asset but not required.

Full-Time Equivalency: 1.0 FTE - Probationary Contract

Compensation: Varies based on Years of Teaching Experience and Education
