We are currently seeking a Junior Facility Operator to join our dynamic Energy Infrastructure department. As a Junior Facility Operator, you will be responsible for supporting the operation, maintenance, and monitoring of facility equipment, while ensuring the safe and reliable operation of all plant equipment within designated parameters. You will work under the guidance and supervision of a qualified operator.
Our location is situated in close proximity to the town of Peers, AB, just 40 kilometers east of Edson, AB, and a mere 65 kilometers south of Whitecourt, AB.
What you Will do:
- Reacting to Process, Environmental, and Safety events in a timely and appropriate manner
- Assist in the on-site management of contractors, including orientation, safe work agreement, contractor supervision, etc.
- Maintain familiarity with Site Specific Emergency Response Plan, Site Environmental requirements, Pressure Equipment Integrity program, AER requirements, Atco Quality Management system, and other codes and regulations that govern our business.
- Accountable for adhering to Operations and Site-Specific Operating Procedures by carrying out operating activities under the guidance of a lead operator.
- Assist the lead operator in carrying out operating activities, including operator rounds, troubleshooting, production logging, and documenting unit activities.
- Ensure equipment functions within design parameters from both, the control panel and field measurements. Report any abnormalities to the lead operator upon discovery.
- Monitor process equipment with guidance from the lead operator to ensure it is functional/within design limitations and safe operating conditions.
- Operate under supervision the storage assets in injection or withdrawal modes. Plant facilities include :JT Plants, stabilizers, heating systems, flares, incinerators, reboilers, tanks, air instrument and control systems, pressure piping, vessels, sumps, liners, compressors, wellheads, well sites, and below-ground pipelines. Pipeline assets include wellheads, pigging stations, and risers.
- Perform plant maintenance duties such as belt changes, filter changes, PSV removal and installation, etc., under the direction of a lead operator.
- Maintain good housekeeping standards of all facilities.

- You hold a high school diploma
- 0-3 years of related industrial or process experience
- Ability to prioritize conflicting demands and take the initiative to complete tasks before being asked
- Collaborative, resourceful, creative, and self-motivated
- Well-developed interpersonal, critical thinking, and organizational skills
- Ability to multi-task and problem-solve within a fast-paced environment
- Strong written & verbal communication skills
- Demonstrated ability to work independently or collaboratively as an effective team member
- Must have a valid Alberta operator's license (minimum class 5)
