Position Summary
The Risk Manager role is an on-project lead position responsible for managing the Project Risk Management Program and liaising with relevant internal and external stakeholders on Project Risk Management (PRM) matters. Responsible for providing technical advice and facilitation of PRM Tools, Processes and People. The role requires a people person with ability to drive focus on PRM. Working in close coordination with project leaders, establishing stakeholder relationships and gaining the teams’ trust, your broad experience in construction, engineering or mining will support your ability to quickly grasp the policies, processes and structures by which our projects work within.
Responsibilities

• Conduct reviews of risk activities.
• Facilitate Risk Workshops (High level Risk Workshops to low level risk assessments).
• Lead project risk management processes.
• Dashboard development.
• Establish and maintain Leadership Engagement.
• Mentor, train and advise project leaders in risk awareness.
• Reporting deadlines.

Qualifications And Skills

• Degree in Engineering, Project Management or Mining or an MBA.
• Experience working in a mining environment highly advantageous.
• Must have the right to work in the Canada prior to applying for this role.
• Minimum of 5 years’ experience working in projects ideally within construction or mining.
• Strong communicator who can facilitate discussions without controlling the agenda.
• Analytical in the approach to problem solving.
• Critical thinker with strong analytical and decision-making skills.
• Minimum of 5 years’ experience in risk management in a project environment.
• Adaptable to multiple professional cultures.
• Your ability to work under pressure to meet simultaneous deadlines and your self-driven aptitude to work autonomously will provide for flexible working arrangements.
• Academic qualification in the area of project management, risk management, information systems, or a related field and a minimum of 10 years of relevant risk management or change management experience.
