Resolution Officer - Payments



What is the opportunity?


Our RBC Accounting Services team is continuing to grow as we manage our business demands. As an Accounts Payable Resolution Officer, you will be responsible for accurate, timely and complete processing of accounts payable transactions. You will also be responsible to effectively analyze issues and provide resolution to escalated vendor and business partner inquiries, using expert knowledge of accounts payable processes. You will identify continuous improvement opportunities, develop action plans and solutions as well as provide support to AP processors for escalations on accounts payable transactions.


What will you do?


  • Proactively identifies and recommends solutions to recurring errors and service gaps; acts as a referral point/Subject Matter Expert (SME) for sales and service RBC employees
  • Maintains generic mailbox to ensure inquiries are answered promptly, within the Service Level Agreement, and assists in cross training other team members as needed
  • Takes ownership and accountability for the resolution of issues and concerns at the first point of contact; demonstrating a long-term perspective in addressing vendor/business partner concerns
  • Provides consistent and high-quality service in processing of accounts payable transactions within established benchmarks contributing to achievement of service levels
  • Ensures all documents/data are examined for completeness and accuracy, and takes appropriate steps to correct any errors or omissions
  • Assist in reviews of procedure documents, audit requests and SOX reviews
  • Exercises due diligence in following operational risk policies, procedures, standards, and guidelines


What do you need to succeed?


Must-have:


  • Proficient in Microsoft suite of applications, intermediate to advanced excel
  • Excellent organizational and multitasking skills and ability to prioritize activities to ensure objectives are met
  • 2 years of operations experience in a financial sector environment
  • Some knowledge of all Regulatory and Compliance rules, Internal Audit reviews


Nice-to-have:


  • Knowledge in Accounts Payable
  • University or college degree in accounting, finance, business preferred
  • Knowledge in SAP
  • Exposure to Lean Six Sigma (LSS) or process improvement

Branch Operations Assistant



What is the Opportunity?


The role is provides Branch Operations support to DS clients, Branch Management Team, Investment Advisors and Investment Advisor Associates. This role ensures the branch is following procedures as outlined in the Internal Controls policies as well as regulatory requirements.


What will you do?


  • Reception – answering phones and greeting clients
  • Cover Associate vacations
  • Manage the filing for all branch operations related reports and documents, oversee branch retention of documents in accordance with internal controls
  • Assist with special branch projects for the teams including regulatory projects & firm-lead initiatives
  • Co-ordinate with Advisor/Branch for any client events, manage invitations & logistics & event execution
  • Learn the administration aspects of the Associate role (account opening, forms, trading & reports) at a basic level
  • Responsible for processing all branch cash transactions, including cheques, Bankwires and for processing physical securities
  • Support branch management team with administrative functions: order management of the office supplies; boardroom scheduling, providing support to Branch Administrators when needed, assisting in ordering lunch for branch presentations, support with premises management
  • Account opening approvals, this includes reviewing documentation and scanning forms into the documentation workflow system, pulling documentation for branch staff as needed
  • Ensure Branch and Cage reports are prepared, reviewed (where assigned), distributed and/or presented to Branch Management for review.

Must-have


  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills in
  • Strong skills working with business applications/technology, including Microsoft Office Suite
  • High quality time management and organization skills
  • Demonstrated skills in providing world-class client service that will come across as professional, warm, and friendly to our clients


Nice to have


  • Canadian Securities Course (CSC) and Conduct and Practices Handbook Course (CPH)
