Research Associate (Air Space: Creating A Community-Integrated Network Of Interdisciplinary Research On Socio-Atmospherics)

“Air Space: Creating a Community-Integrated Network of Interdisciplinary Research on Socio-Atmospherics” will examine the role of air in health and welfare inequality; its politically contested nature; how it is used, polluted, measured and changed; its spatial politics as part of urban environments and shared living spaces; and its social functions and meanings as part of home, community and everyday life. The project will bring together an interdisciplinary team of researchers, community stakeholders and local residents to generate questions on air, atmospherics and inequalities. A scoping review of disciplinary knowledge will be carried out and engagement with external academics and others, including an advisory board, will be undertaken to forge connections and to help build a further large/centre grant.

The successful candidate will hold (or be about to achieve) a PhD in Sociology, Social Science (Studies), Geography (or equivalent) and will have experience of literature reviewing, creative research methods and good communication/organization skills.
