Job Overview:
We are seeking a highly motivated and skilled research associate who has recently completed a science-based Masters or Ph.D. program with expertise in nanotechnology. The successful candidate will join Spectra Plasmonics' research and development team and be responsible for supporting the development and optimization of new products and contributing to ongoing research projects. Spectra Plasmonics is a cutting-edge nanotechnology company that is revolutionizing chemical analysis with our patented technology. Our flagship product, Amplifi ID, enables rapid and accurate detection of illicit drug mixtures, including fentanyl and other harmful compounds, in as little as 10 minutes. This is a full-time position with opportunities for growth and career advancement.
Responsibilities:
- Conducting laboratory experiments to support product development and optimization.
- Work on challenging but impactful projects both in research and real-world applications
- Contributing to ongoing research projects, including experimental design and data analysis
- Maintaining accurate and detailed laboratory records and documentation
- Participating in project meetings and presenting research findings
- Providing technical support to other teams as needed
- Staying up-to-date with scientific literature and relevant technologies, with a focus on nanotechnology and related fields
- Collaborating with other members of the R&D team to ensure project timelines are met
Qualifications:
- Masters or Ph.D. in a field with a focus on nanotechnology, such as materials science, mechanical engineering, chemical engineering, or chemistry
- Experience with nanomaterials synthesis and electrochemistry
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Strong laboratory skills and experience conducting experiments independently, with a focus on nanotechnology-based approaches
- Experience with a range of laboratory techniques, including but not limited to nanoparticle synthesis and characterization, spectroscopy, and surface chemistry
- Experience working in a research and development environment
- Familiarity with statistical analysis software and data analysis techniques
- No industrial experience required
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
