Role Summary

SunGrid is currently seeking individuals who are passionate about renewables to join our Business Development Team as Solutions Associates. Reporting to the Director of Solutions, this position will be responsible for developing deliverables for the outside sales team, estimating and market awareness for specialized electrical construction projects in the utility, large commercial and industrial sectors. Our open concept environment and collaborative team environment is second to none.

Understanding the SunGrid value proposition of technical quality, cost effectiveness, building and maintaining client relationships, and providing guidance to a team are integral parts of this role. This position requires a person to work independently from initial templates to final customer ready documents. The candidate must be able to organize workload and be a part of a team to meet agreed schedules.



Location & Travel

  • Ability to travel to Calgary, Alberta for a multi-day orientation
  • Currently resides within a 50-km radius of Calgary, Alberta and be willing to commute to the office daily.

About the Opportunity

This is no regular job description! Whether this is your first step into Renewables, or you are continuing to build your foundational experience, we are committed to grooming candidates who demonstrate passion and performance as we rapidly scale the SunGrid team.

As Renewables Solutions Associate, you will:

  • Report to the Director of Solutions as a member of the Business Development Team to support execution of large energy storage design-build projects.
  • Be offered tremendous professional growth, mentorship, and career pathing. Once your skills are identified, SunGrid will progress you to other areas of the business to hone your skills in an area of specialization.
  • Undergo two weeks of familiarization training at the Houston, TX office with a cohort of new members from across North America.
  • Elevate team capacity with immediate assignment to high priority tasks and projects aligned to your education and experience.
  • Gain exposure to all business areas, technical and non-technical, including sales, engineering, relationship management, and administration to name a few.

*Projects and tasks may include, but are not limited to, project pricing, project scheduling, task coordination, proposal writing, producing Engineering drawing packages, general administration, meeting management, and supporting deliverables of the outside sales team.


Qualifications:

  • Technical skills - Any combination of 3: Excel, Word, AutoCAD, Smartsheet, MS Project, MS PowerPoint

  • Fluency in the English language with excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Passion for renewable energy and sustainability
