Your Opportunity:


The Senior Project Director, Red Deer Regional Hospital Centre (RDRHC) Redevelopment has a key leadership role in the implementation of the RDRHC Redevelopment and reports directly to the Chief Program Officer, Capital Management. This position is responsible and accountable for providing strategic leadership and direction on all aspects of planning, design, delivery and evaluation of the RDRHC Redevelopment as it relates to AHS’s roles and responsibilities on this major capital project being lead and managed by Alberta Infrastructure (INFRA).


Description:


The Senior Project Director works within the legislation, agreements, accountabilities and responsibilities established among AHS, INFRA and Alberta Health (HEALTH), to oversee the effective planning, delivery and project management of the RDRHC Redevelopment. This person provides support to INFRA in their development of infrastructure planning deliverables including the facility’s Functional Program, as well as their lead in the design and construction of the RDRHC Redevelopment. This involves assuming a leadership role with respect to requirements management and validation for new facilities. The Senior Project Director will provide senior supervisory leadership to all AHS staff assigned to the RDRHC Redevelopment Project Management Office (PMO) throughout the duration of the project. The Senior Project Director will develop and maintain strong working relationships with key stakeholders and leaders within all areas of AHS, such as Clinical Services, Clinical and Non-Clinical Support Services, Capital Management, IT, Finance, Human Resources and Communications, in order to provide strategic leadership to all related programs and services. This position also establishes and maintains positive relationships with key local, municipal, provincial and health care stakeholders including various Government of Alberta departments and officials. The position provides direct support and expert advice, as required, to the Chief Program Officer, Capital Management on all aspects of the RDRHC Redevelopment. The position provides strategic leadership and direction to ensure the effective implementation, management, monitoring, measurement and evaluation of the RDRHC Redevelopment.

Required Qualifications:


Masters or Graduate Degree in Architecture, Engineering, Health Care Management, Business Administration or related field. 5-7 years senior management experience in a complex public or private organization. The ability to communicate effectively with all types of audiences, both verbally and written as well as the ability to build effective relationships with a wide range of internal and external stakeholders including clinicians, with the capability to inspire confidence with key partners. The ability to effectively and enthusiastically communicate AHS's major capital project goals to others and demonstrate soundness of judgment. Evidence of consistently delivering organizational objectives through working in partnerships, joint ventures or collaboration with others, and of building and maintaining strong relationships with a diverse and occasionally divergent set of stakeholders (e.g. senior leadership teams, clinicians and Government). A clear strategic vision for capital planning, a proven track record of broad operational management experience and evidence of leading successful change in large health organizations.
