:
Roles & Responsibilities:
  • Perform all in-house test procedures, cleaning, routine maintenance, calibration and troubleshooting of lab test equipment.
  • Conduct root cause analysis and determine the necessary corrective action.
  • Performs GMP and Internal Inspections of the facility, communicates results and follows-up completion of corrective actions.
  • Perform analytical, microbiological and sensory testing and analysis of in-process and finished product samples according to approved standard operating procedures. Record and evaluate test data and notify the Quality Supervisor of any deviations from the product specifications.
  • Perform administrative duties such as maintain records, forms and logs including computer databases, and performing regular inventory checks and providing the Quality supervisor with a list of required supplies.
  • Conduct verifications of food safety and regulatory compliance programs to ensure Quality Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) in all departments are being followed
  • Other duties, as assigned.
  • Collects environmental, sanitation effectiveness, and allergen swabs; including sample collection, documentation and packaging for laboratory analysis.
  • Evaluates the Environmental Monitoring Program and Sanitation Effectiveness Program results:
  • Assist in the investigation of customer complaints, quality incidents and deviations to standard.
Skills, Experience and Education:
  • A degree and/or diploma in a Sciences Program is preferred.
  • Must have good verbal and written communication skills.
  • Possess strong analytical, organizational and judgement skills.
  • Knowledge of analytical techniques, chemistry, microbiology, math and basic computer skills.
  • Must be able to multitask and work well under stressful situations.
  • Strong Interpersonal skills, along with supporting verbal and written communication skills.
  • 2-3 years in a quality function within the Food & Beverage industry is an asset
  • Must be able to work well as part of a team.
  • Knowledge of Good Manufacturing Practices, HACCP, WHMIS, sanitation principles and safe handling of chemicals.
