Role Description
As the Quality Manager, you will focus on maintaining continuity between quality services and customers' requirements, ongoing monitoring of all testing functions, and ensuring the overall quality of products. In addition to overseeing and managing the Quality Control team, you will be responsible for developing, maintaining, and monitoring systems that effectively manage product quality and food safety with a focus on continuous improvement. To ensure products and the manufacturing processes meet food quality and safety standards, you will create documentation and file the appropriate reports to maintain various policies and certifications and work to continue to develop the culture of quality within the plant.
Your Responsibilities Will Include
With a post-secondary education in a relevant field, you have applied your quality management skills in a manufacturing environment to develop processes and train employees. In your experience as a team lead or supervisor, you have managed change and helped shape a culture that values quality and efficiency. Additionally, you have been the key contact for quality/safety certifications, such as HACCP, and have successfully lead audits to ensure compliance.

Your Responsibilities Will Include
- Researching quality related issues affecting the industry to ensure continual supply of raw materials to meet customer specifications in accordance with the MPPLP purchasing standards and protocols
- Monitoring and improving steps of the Quality Management System process, including updating reporting procedures and systems; facilitating corrective actions and preventative actions; and initiating and fostering a spirit of cooperation within and between departments.
- Accomplishing results by communicating expectations collaboratively through analysis; employee development; and documented quality systems, policies, and procedures
- Maintaining and enhancing quality service by establishing and enforcing organization standards and continuous improvement methodologies
- Liaising and collaborating cross functionally to troubleshoot customer concerns by analyzing data; investigating issues; identifying solutions; recommending action
- Championing the Quality System and ensuring compliance to the IFS regulations, including managing the HACCP food safety program and all aspects of the associated prerequisites
- Reviewing specifications, as necessary, to allow for maximum productivity while meeting customer specifications and required performance of the finished goods

Your Qualifications Include
- Bachelor's degree in a science-based area of study or related education
- Formal training in Quality Management Systems (QMS), Continuous Quality Improvement, Statistical Process Control (SPC), Food Safety (HACCP), Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP); all considered an asset
- Experience with Microsoft Office products
- Excellent problem-solving and change management skills
- Great communication/listening skills
- Demonstrated leadership skills, including employee development and motivation
- Detail oriented with strong analytical and organizational skills
- Experience in implementing/maintaining and auditing Food Safety Quality standards IFS GFSI Training
- Minimum of 5 years hands-on quality experience in packaging or food industry operations coupled with leadership experience
- Self-motivated continuous learner
