Role-QA lead
Location-Toronto ON
Job decription-
The Contractor shall provide variable application testing and quality assurance services relating to the business application, including, but not limited to:
Analysis of high-level business processes and requirements. Understand features, workflows, interfaces, and data to be tested.
Develop and maintain application testing strategies, test plans, and testing efforts/costing estimation.
Evaluate and identify the test automation capability.
. Organize and lead the QA/Test team, establish QA processes and procedures, and then oversee the testing and the artifacts.
. Collaborate closely with project team members and stakeholders to ensure that all information systems programs and projects meet quality standards for usability, operability, accessibility, performance, security and end-user requirements.
. Responsible for Test Management, Test Case Management and Defect Management. Ensure the test processes and tools follow QA best practices and principles.
Contribute to continuous improvement of the quality assurance processes and practices that increase application testability, support defect prevention, early defects detection and test automation.
. Responsible for team reports and other documents describing the testing status and quality of the software under test, such as weekly status reports, product health reports, Test Cases/Defects Metrics, etc.
. Create and maintain the training & KT material, including documentation, Wiki, and audio/video recordings.
Identify, describe and track defects by using defect tracking tools or other project and operating incident tracking software.
. Design, develop and perform usability, user acceptance tests and performance testing. Facilitate security and DR testing.
PREFERRED KNOWLEDGE & EXPERIENCE
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems or Business Administration, or equivalent.
5+ years experience in QA industry; 3+ years of recent software QA and Testing hands-on experience, preferably with experience on Agile, web-based/cloud-based, and multi-stakeholder projects.
. Proficient in using tracking tools such as Microsoft ADO, qTest, or JIRA
. Experience with XML, JSON, HTML, SQL, SOAP, REST, web standards, and testing Windows and web application and services.
. Familiar with one of the databases and SQL, such as MS SQL Server, Oracle, MySQL, MongoDB, DocumentDB.
. Knowledge of Testing Tools such as HP Quality Center, QA Complete, or similar.
. Experience in developing automated or performance test scripts; Knowledge or experience with automation tools, such as Selenium Web Driver, JMeter, SoupUI, VisualStudio Quality Tool.
. Good in identifying issues and conducting root cause analysis.
. Experience with API testing; Knowledge or experience with the tools, such as Postman, SoapUI.
Experience and familiar with one of the programming/scripting languages, such as C#, F#, Java, JavaScript, and Python would be an asset.
Experience with application and system profiling and monitoring tools, such as MS Performance Monitor, New Relic, Nagios would be an asset.
