As Lead Quality Engineer in Data Engineering, you will be working to provide Quality and automated testing strategies and expected to have in-dept knowledge of current industry-wide testing techniques and test automation tools. You will be responsible in building quality strategy and standards into the Data Engineering team on AWS services and Data content by defining and implementing detailed, comprehensive automated test strategy and leading the day-to-day testing. Work with program leadership to resolve issues and testing risks.

Role-Specific Accountabilities:

• Monitor the effectiveness of the Test automation and bring about improvements through insights gained via analysis at various stages of test automation to ensure stability, efficiency, and scalability
• Lead and mentor a team of QE professionals and drive testing priorities to achieve the necessary business outcomes
• Developing, enhancing, and executing manual and automated functional tests
• Participate in project review meetings to determine status, problem areas, and rework and re-plan activities
• Work collaboratively with cross functional teams and infuse quality in every phase of SDLC
• Identify and select industry best practices, to support continuous process improvements and efficiencies in the overall QE processes and implement test metrics culture to demonstrate continuous improvements
• Design test architectures (Test automation frameworks, code libraries etc.), automation standards and procedures, for the team to use across various platforms
• Develop and execute test strategies and test plans with a focus on optimized coverage across work streams
• Maximize test automation coverage by bringing in “automation first” mindset and look for opportunities to shift-left testing in the delivery process

Qualifications

• Demonstrated analytical and negotiation skills, and close attention to detail
• Knowledge of AWS/and or Azure
• Hands on experience working with API test automation tools like Postman, SoapUI etc.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Proficiency in SQL and performant queries
• Experience with QA processes and methodologies required, automated and manual test processes, test planning, test cases design, scripting, execution, automated test tools, regression testing
• Experience with Agile Scrum/Kanban processes, and work management tools: JIRA, Confluence
• Proficiency in Python with experience in development and maintenance of Test Automation Frameworks / Test Harness
• Hands on experience ETL, data quality/completeness validation
• A Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, related discipline or equivalent work experience and technical training
• Minimum 3 years leadership experience leading QA/QE initiatives
• Ability to learn new concepts, and adapt to changing priorities and new challenges
• 5+ years of QE experience in related roles(s)
• Experienced in interacting and coordinating test activities amongst multiple teams and ability to handle multiple competing priorities in a fast-paced environment

Additional Skills – Good To Have

• Knowledge of CI/CD pipeline implementation
• Knowledge of financial markets, reference security master and index data
• Experience in DevOps tools like Jenkins, Code Build, GitHub Action
