As a Mainframe Support Engineer, you will be responsible for providing technical support and maintenance for our mainframe systems, with a focus on COBOL and PL/I programming languages.

Tasks

• Provide technical support and maintenance for mainframe systems, ensuring their smooth operation and availability.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to troubleshoot and resolve issues related to mainframe applications, systems, and software.
• Perform code reviews, debugging, and problem analysis to ensure the quality and reliability of COBOL and PL/I programs.
• Develop and implement solutions to enhance the efficiency, stability, and security of mainframe systems.
• Analyze system performance and identify areas for optimization and improvement.

Requirements

• Proficiency in IMS or IDMS databases, including database design, administration, and troubleshooting.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in mainframe support or development roles, with a strong focus on COBOL and PL/I.
• Solid knowledge of mainframe technologies and tools, including JCL, VSAM, TSO/ISPF, and SDSF.
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field. Equivalent work experience will also be considered.
