Software Engineering Lead Jobs

The Software Engineering Lead will design, architect, build, and lead the creation of microservice-based, mission-critical applications on prem, cloud platforms. They are passionate about building new features, enhancing existing products, and translating the client's business requirements into specific systems and technology solutions. Enjoys writing code, performing POCs and passionate about going deep dive as necessary and a role model for developers. Creating and maintaining relevant technical documentation including API specifications.
In this role, you will be responsible for development and delivery of comprehensive technical solutions and supporting applications required in a variety of business and technical domains. Prototyping, architecting & detailed design of the applications ensuring design meets or exceeds the non-functional requirements, leading the team to ensure standard code practices and security requirements are met, perform code reviews and establish standards for effective and higher code coverage.
You have senior-level knowledge of the Java based application frameworks, microservice backend architecture, design patterns, SDLC methodologies and experience working in an Agile software development environment. Directing the work of a technical team, providing technical & system requirements for the development, overseeing day-to-day and long-term works. Working with cross-functional streams such as platform, infrastructure, security, architecture, operations etc. to enable the systems as required.

• Leading multiple teams consists of developers, test engineers or system engineers.
• Cloud-native components and delivery models. Knowledge and experience in Azure platform are an advantage.
• Working with software testing teams and assisting them in maintaining robust test scripts and test environments
• Proactively identifying architectural weaknesses and recommending appropriate solutions, performing functional and code reviews in related areas
• Designing and building complex, highly performant, scalable and reliable software systems. This position requires hands-on development experience to provide effective code review, troubleshooting and technical leadership as required by team.
• Grasping the business requirements, designing the system, translating into the technical system requirements for the development.
• Building API specifications using OpenAPI specification and technical documents such as system requirement, solution architecture etc.
• CI/CD/CD pipelines for API services.
• Building highly available and secure API based services for on-cloud and in-prem platforms.
• Working with cross-functional streams such as platform, infrastructure, security, architecture, operations, project management etc.
• Security aspects of the Web App and API services such as OIDC, OAuth2, data protection using industry standards etc.

Who are you?

• 12+ years relevant experience with at least 2-3 years of recent experience in lead role.
• Strong understanding of performance implications in relation to large data sets and the approaches to mitigate.
• Must be eligible to work for Interac Corp. in Canada in a Full Time Capacity.
• Experience in securing data at transmission and rest using TLS, JWT/JWE/JWS etc.
• Capable of performing investigations and evaluation of new technologies, can forecast the necessity and visibility of modifying organization’s technology strategy.
• Strong leadership and communication skills.
• Desire to be a people leader in future along with leading the development teams technically.
• Experience with microservices, containerized applications, Docker/Kubernetes, cloud technologies.
• Prior experience building and delivering software products and oversee technical implementation of the product end to end from inception to launch.
• Capable of building strategic and tactical roadmaps.
• University Degree in Computer Science/Engineering or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Strong experience developing Java based applications using Spring, Spring MVC, Spring Boot, JPA, JMS, Hibernate.
• Self-motivated and able to learn quickly.
• Excellent analysis, problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
• Experience in service mesh technologies such as Istio and Envoy
• Able to keep pace with new technologies and to apply them appropriately.
• Strong experience using CI/CD automation/build tools (Gradle, Maven, Git, Jenkins, Team city, Ansible).
• Experience building resilient, high-throughput, low latency systems and service-oriented architectures.
• Strong experience in design & build API services using Java Springboot, JPA/Hibernate, Docker, RESTful API, OpenAPI.
