Quality Assurance Analyst - Investment Management Technology (1-Year Contract)

JOB STATEMENT:

Reporting to the Director or their designate and working in a fast paced environment, the Quality Assurance Analyst is responsible for executing and managing various levels of testing in support of our investment management division and will work directly with internal stakeholders across front and middle-office teams that employ the Charles River IMS (CRIMS) vendor platform and other trading/ investment management/ market data systems. The successful candidate will be a dedicated team-oriented individual with an excellent understanding of investment management industry and the related. This highly motivated and energetic candidate must work with the business as well as the IT department to ensure all test plans are documented, prioritized and delivered.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS & DUTIES:

• Actively participate and contribute to CRIMS implementations. Analyze and define test objectives and create test plans and test cases;
• Defect management – articulation of defects in detailed manner and monitor resolution efforts and track successes;
• Execute and manage various levels of testing - Functional (IST, UAT), regression and end to end testing
• Manage testing tasks and deliver milestones with minimal supervision;
• Analyze/interpret test results and provide recommendations to improve testing.
• Independently identify the test data requirements and execute test cases;
• Plan test schedules or strategies in accordance with project scope or delivery dates; and
• Participate in requirements/user story grooming, defect triage and stakeholder demos;

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Excellent organizational, analytical problem-solving and critical thinking skills
• Excellent oral and written communication skills
• Experience (3+ years) and testing in portfolio management and order management systems within the Investment Management industry
• Good interpersonal and team skills
• Manage tasks and deliver milestones with minimal supervision.
• Creative, adaptable, resilient, self-directed, innovative, results oriented
• Ability to work independently and as a team member
• Experience working on Charles River Investment Management System (CRIMS)
• Post-secondary education in Business or Information Technology
• Strong knowledge of financial instruments and capital markets
• Experience in the field of IT and QA Testing
