Position:
Purchasing Specialist
We are looking for a motivated, goal orientated Purchasing Specialist for our group of aviation companies in our busy Kamloops office. If you are energetic, detail oriented and can work effectively in a team atmosphere, we want to meet you! This position is well suited for a driven individual who takes pride in their work and has a strong attention to detail.
Familiarity with Aviation terminology is an asset, but not a deal breaker. We are willing to train the right candidate.

Skills:
·Must be detailed, accurate and able to meet deadlines.
·Excellent written and verbal communication skills
·Advance problem-solving abilities.
·Strong time management skills with the ability to prioritize tasks.
·Minimum of 5 years of procurement and purchasing experience.
·Self-motivated, able to work with minimal supervision and in a team environment.
·Effective computer skills, prior experience with an ERP Software (Ex. Component Control) and Microsoft Office products (Excel, Outlook etc)
·Positive attitude, teachable, strong work ethic, and honestly are a must.
Responsibilities:
- Ensure suppliers database is up to date with lead times, pricing, and classifications.
- Monitor and respond to electronic and verbal requisitions.
- Ensure procedures are followed for importing/exporting products with correct tariffs, shipping manifests, and that documentation is complete, accurate and timely.
- Follow up and track orders from time of order to receipt of shipment- being proactive on supply situations and impending issues.
- Participate in and support corporate purchasing programs.
- File sales orders in consistent and organized manner
- Monitor and participate in coordination of inventory requirements for stocking programs.
- Take ownership of customer issues and determine exact replacement parts and/or service needed (coordinate with engineering department as necessary)
- Work closely with Managers to advise on changing market/supply situations and offer solutions to potential issues/delays.
- Manage inventory through re-ordering stock, monitoring movement of stock levels, and identifying slow moving items.
- Work with existing suppliers and proactively source new suppliers.
