Purchasing Agent (Buyer)
Regular Full-time
Duties: Reporting to the Director Finance, the Purchasing Agent is responsible for providing procurement expertise and leadership for the planning, selection and procurement of a wide variety of goods and services required to meet the operating needs of the College of the Rockies in an effective, ethical and legal manner. The Purchasing Agent is also responsible for the day to day operations of the Shipping/Receiving department. Occasional travel may be required. (e.g. annual Provincial Purchasing Meeting and trade shows)
Qualifications: A SCMP (Supply Chain Management Professional) Designation or equivalent with 2 years public sector purchasing or 4 years buying or equivalent. In addition to proficiency in word processing, spreadsheet and database applications, candidates must possess strong negotiating, communication, and interpersonal skills. Experience or knowledge about the trucking/delivery business and knowledge in regard to responsibilities of receiving goods would be considered an asset. Please see the Full in the link below.

Salary: CUPE Pay Level 6 with starting wage of $49,813.40 per year at step 1 with yearly increments progressing to Step 5. The College also offers a comprehensive range of benefits.
