CopperTree Solutions Inc., a Managed IT Service Provider serving Waterloo and surrounding areas, is currently seeking a full-time Project Technician with a proven record of coordinating and completing a range of IT projects as well as troubleshooting various technical issues.

As a result of our growing business, we are looking for an experienced and motivated individual to implement projects for our managed service clients as well as CopperTree’s internal infrastructure. Projects include server upgrades, cloud migrations, Office 365 migrations, network upgrades, backup system upgrades, ERP system migrations and upgrades, technical system discovery, and technical report development. This individual will also utilize their advanced technical and organizational skills to support other branches of the business.
The successful candidate will be able to schedule their time with both customers and vendors, possess the focus to keep projects progressing, have the ability to create comprehensive documentation, and be eager to take on all challenging technical problems that are not able to be solved by the helpdesk team. In addition to their solid technical skills, the Project Technician will have experience delivering complex hardware and software migration projects.

Responsibilities:
•Schedule your time and work independently to complete assigned tasks.
•Implement multi-phase projects to meet customer goals.
oSetting up small and medium client networks
oSet up and support Routers, Firewalls, Switches, APs
oSet up and support backup solutions.
oInstalling computers and various other equipment on client sites.
oManage Office 365 maintenance, installation, and migration.
oResearch, support and troubleshooting line of business apps as required.
oCoordinate with vendors and contractors.
oManage down-time and customer impact.
oEnsure risks are managed while minimizing their impact on projects and customers.
•Daily status check-ins with professional services manager.
•Provide time-sensitive support to clients on escalated helpdesk tickets.
•Participate in the validation and creation of internal documentation as required.

Requirements:
•Expectation to work in office when not at client site.
•Ability to work evenings and weekends when required.
•Clear RCMP Criminal Background check.
•Valid Ontario Driver’s License
Qualifications
•8+ years of experience in the IT industry.
•3+ years of experience with a portfolio of completed projects in the IT industry.
•Solid technological background with Windows domains, Office 365, networking, and email.
•Strong written and verbal communication skills with both end-users and technical staff.
•Firm organizational and multi-tasking skills.
•Experience improving processes.
•Excellent analytical skills with the ability to discover solutions for all challenges faced.
•Have a commercial awareness to ensure our clients’ needs are met and identify opportunities for improvement.
•Mentoring coworkers to help them fulfill requirements of projects they are working on.
•Experience building relationships with end-users and project stakeholders.
•Experience with Windows domains, firewall and networking systems, phones, email and cloud services and virtualization.
•Knowledge of networking and server hardware
•Certifications with technology an asset.
•MSP experience preferred.
