Project Manager, Renewable Project Management

Position Overview
As a Project Manager, Renewable Project Management, you will provide technical guidance to business development efforts from development through construction for renewable energy projects, particularly for onshore wind projects in Quebec. You will be responsible for managing projects from advanced development through construction to achieve commercial operation.
Responsibilities

• Assist development and engineering teams with site layout, micro-siting and civil design of projects.
• Generate project schedules and evaluate alternate scenarios.
• Support business development teams in evaluating constructability of early-stage projects.
• Manage and monitor construction activities for multiple project sites.
• Support internal project financing and accounting efforts, including managing project budgets.
• Lead coordination of development and construction efforts with project stakeholders, contractors, labor organization, interconnecting utilities and local authorities.
• Prepare, negotiate and manage equipment, procurement, and construction (EPC) contracts.
• Manage construction permitting activities and ensure site construction activities comply. Also ensure construction adheres to established protocols and all contractual requirements.

Required Skills

• Thorough understanding and experience in contract negotiation and implementation of projects in accordance with contracts.
• Demonstrated ability in leadership of multi-disciplined teams of engineers and outside consultants.
• Bachelor’s Degree in Civil, Electrical or Mechanical Engineering or other related technical discipline.
• Excellent solution-seeking, teamwork, leadership and communication skills which extend across all organizational and management levels.
• 5+ years of progressive project management experience.
• Experience in development and execution of complex project schedules utilizing state-of-the art scheduling tools.
• Fluency in English and French.
• Able to travel domestically and internationally up to 25% of the time.

Preferred Skills

• Specific experience developing or constructing wind farms in Quebec preferred.
• Construction field experience preferred.
• Power industry, renewable energy industry experience preferred. Specific experience in wind and solar farm development is a plus.
• Master’s Degree in Engineering or other related discipline is a plus.
