The opportunity:


The Project Management Office (PMO) is searching for a seasoned senior leader who will enable the vision for strategic and transformative change to contribute to the achievement of the organization’s business objectives by elevating our project management capabilities.


Reporting to the Vice-president, Transformation Projects and Real Estate, and working in close collaboration with the Change Management Group, the Director, PMO leads, supports, and develops a project management and business analysis team.


The incumbent will work in close partnership with a broad range of stakeholders at all levels of the organization in a fast-paced, geo-diverse environment across multiple business divisions.

Principal tasks:


Your key responsibilities (the journey we want you to take)


Inspiring leader on the forefront of advancing Master’s strategic goals, you leverage your senior program/project management skills to foster the organization’s ability to succeed, learn, and continuously evolve. You are accountable for the overall management of the internal portfolio of programs and projects including the following responsibilities:


  • Program / Project Governance: Establish robust framework for structured oversight, decision making, progress reporting, and value delivery monitoring to ensure programs and projects achieve business objectives
  • Visibility and Communication: Ensure transparency of portfolio performance and establish PMO as the central resource for all stakeholders to gain clear understanding of progress, challenges, risks, and decisions on a timely basis
  • Stakeholder Management: Build and foster strategic and collaborative relationships with internal and external stakeholders
  • Assisting business leaders with articulating new project ideas
  • Process Improvement and Optimization: Identify opportunities to ensure the evolution of the PMO processes and tools to improve portfolio health, accelerate value delivery, streamline workflows, and generate efficiencies
  • Team Leadership: Provide guidance, knowledge, support, and coaching to project managers to develop talent, grow skillsets, and cultivate a motivating, high performance team culture
  • Planning, leading, organizing, and mobilizing project teams to deliver initiatives that provide exceptional business value to Master
  • Forecasting future resource capacity and reporting on existing resource utilization
  • Lead processes that enable tracking, measurement, and reporting of portfolio KPIs, present accurate representations of project progress, health, risks, and challenges
  • Implement a structured approach to project execution for all managed projects; ensure that the management of projects is harmonized and efficient across the whole organization
  • Risk, Issue, and Scope Management: Anticipate, identify, and assess risks which impact program and project delivery, ensuring challenges and/or problems are managed in a timely manner through effective mitigation strategies and plans
  • Portfolio Management and Performance:
  • Elevate PMO Capabilities: Establish, develop, and lead the implementation of project management methodologies, standards, processes, and best practices that enable effective execution of portfolio initiatives, increase company-wide agility, and support the smooth running of projects undertaken by the organization

Requirements:


  • Formal education in business administration, program / project management, business analysis, change management, and continuous improvement
  • Bilingualism both oral and written
  • Experience in distribution sector for multi-geography organizations operating both at the corporate distribution level and retail store network, an asset
  • Demonstrated knowledge and ease using project management software including MS Project
  • Any other relevant certification
  • 10+ years project management experience, including minimum of 3 years of experience in a enterprise PMO leadership role, successfully managing complex cross-functional transformational programs and projects
  • PMI certification including but not limited to PMP and PgMP
