The ABB Measurement & Analytics plant in Québec is the world leader in spectroscopy. Our Contract Engineering Department is Canada's largest supplier of space optical sensors used, among other things, for greenhouse gas emissions monitoring and weather forecasting worldwide.

By joining one of the largest engineering departments in Québec, you will actively contribute to the activities of a dynamic and stimulating multidisciplinary team.
Reporting to the director of engineering , the successful candidate has strong expertise in the management of engineering contract projects but first and foremost enjoys working with people. The PMO supervisor must be able to hold technical conversations with the various members of his team but also to communicate effectively with management, Sales, Quality, and customers. He is proactive, an excellent communicator, and excels at problem solving. Within the Engineering Department, the project management office supervisor will also be called upon to perform various mandates related to supervision.
Your responsibilities

• Perform project management in support of the team.
• Oversee the execution of the projects through project reviews.
• Ensure the use of good practices in project management, in a context of the continuous improvement and standardization of working methods.
• Perform his duties in accordance with the standards established, the directives, work processes, policies, and procedures in place.
• Manage the team to ensure the financial success, quality, and project timetables, and team spirit.
• Recruitment and supervision of external staff and interns.
• Participate in the initial planning of the projects, the assessment of costs and timetables, and review risks.
• Responsible for the succession and development plans of the team members.
• Responsible for proactively escalating project/contract execution issues.
• Plan resource allocations in the projects and recruit the necessary resources.
• Participate in the design reviews and project retrospectives.
• Monitor the performance of the members of his team and hold individual and weekly meetings.

Your background

• Bilingualism (French/English) and excellent written and spoken communication skills.

• Minimum 10 years of experience in the management of engineering contract projects + 5 years of experience in supervision or demonstrate the qualities required for direction and management.

• Education and experience in engineering, physics or other relevant disciplines.
