The Construction division of Northland Properties Corporation is looking for a Project Manager for Capital Repairs with expertise in carpentry, plumbing, and electrical work.

What will you be responsible for?


Your Duties And Responsibilities Will Include The Following


Reporting to the Regional Project and Facilities Manager, the Project Manager will be responsible for overseeing daily operations at a worksite to ensure the completion of projects in an efficient manner.


  • Report on progress to managers, engineers etc.
  • Provide technical assistance to field staff and coordinate project requirements with the Site Superintendent, Project Coordinator, Designer, Fabrication Shop and all other team members when required.
  • Ensure workforce and resources are adequate
  • Oversee daily operations at a worksite to ensure the completion of projects in an efficient manner.
  • Review laws by regulating safety on-site while maintaining it throughout all stages.
  • Interpret plans, blueprints, and sketches
  • Produce schedules and monitor attendance of crew
  • Preparation of daily production reports.
  • Plan for their crew's success by providing them with clear instructions on what they need at every step of the process as well as ample training so everyone can do their part properly.
  • Allocate general and daily responsibilities
  • Participation in regular site project meetings
  • Assist with recruitment.
  • Review individual crew daily Job Hazard Analysis (JHA) for compliance, and attend weekly crew safety meetings to make sure all employees are engaged in conversation
  • Coordinate tasks according to priorities and plans
  • Resolve problems when they arise
  • Supervise the use of machinery and equipment
  • Supervise and train workers and tradespeople


What will make you successful in this role?


A successful Project Manager will have the following experience, knowledge and skills:


  • Great understanding of electrical and hydraulic systems
  • High school diploma or diploma in a skilled trade (electrician, carpenter etc.)
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills to report effectively
  • Analytical and problem-solving skills; ability to juggle multiple deadlines; attention to detail and high accuracy
  • Ability to read drawings, plans and blueprints
  • Positive attitude, willingness to encourage co-workers, and act as an ambassador for our companies
  • Literate in the use of computers and Microsoft Office applications
  • Minimum (5) five years prior experience in similar roles with leadership and planning responsibilities in the construction industry
  • Previous experience in Restaurant Construction and Renovations
  • Strong carpentry, plumbing, and electrical knowledge
  • In-depth knowledge of construction procedures, equipment and OSH guidelines
  • Excellent organizational and leadership skills


The Physical Requirements Are


  • Use proper lifting techniques for heavy pipes weighing more than 25 kilograms
  • Must be able to work in outdoor weather and/or unregulated temperatures for 10-12 hours / day
  • Must be able to stand and be on their feet 10-12 hours / day
