Job Description

Marwest Industrieslocated inCastlegar, BCis looking to hire aProject Coordinatorin the areas of roadworks, earthworks, and underground utilities. We are looking for a responsible teammate to administer and organize all types of civil construction projects, from simple activities to more complex plans.

As aProject Coordinator, you will work closely with our Project Manager to prepare comprehensive action plans, including resources, timeframes, and budgets for projects. You will perform various coordinating tasks, such as scheduling and risk management, along with administrative duties, like managing project documentation and handling financial queries. The successful candidate should have excellent time management and communication skills, as you’ll collaborate with clients and internal teams to deliver projects on time, within budget, and meet high quality standards.

Job Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Read & interpret blueprints and contract documents
  • Liaise with clients to identify and define requirements, scope, and objectives
  • Abide by OH&S and environmental regulations, policies, and procedures
  • Coordinate project activities, resources, equipment, and information
  • Create and maintain comprehensive project documentation, plans, and reports
  • Use tools to monitor working hours, plans and expenditures
  • Opening of the construction site: bonding, insurances, safe work notices, roadmap, provisional work plans, scheduling
  • Ensure standards and requirements are met through conducting quality assurance inspections

Job Details:

  • Expected to work 40-50 hours per week
  • Position is FT and available immediately
  • Benefits are available
  • Ability to travel to job sites, company vehicle available for use during work hours
  • Overtime or weekend work as required
  • Pay to be based on experience/education

Job Requirements:

  • Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Suite of Products (word, excel, projects, outlook)
  • Must besafety orientatedin all aspects of the work being undertaken (preparation, in-progress, and cleanup), including identifying, reporting, or correcting all hazards and wearing Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) on a regular basis
  • Other duties as required
  • AutoCAD, Bluebeam experience an asset
  • Physically fit and able to provide hands on effort if required
  • Valid Class 5 driver’s license abstract required
  • Minimum of 2 years experience in civil engineering project management
  • Strong client facing and teamwork skills
  • Applicable Post Secondary Education, Training or Certificates or Additional experience may substitute for the absence of post secondary education
