OZZ Electric is a leading full service electrical contractor, specializing in large scale projects as well as high profile design/build. OZZ Electric is involved in a wide array of diverse and complex projects in the Multi-Residential, ICI, Data Communications & Service markets. Most recently we have expanded our portfolio to include Renewable Energy Solutions with operations across the country.
Role
- Identify and manage project dependencies and critical path.
- Conduct project “lessons learned” meetings and create recommendations report to identify successful and unsuccessful project elements.
- All other duties as assigned to meet department and Company objectives.
- Delegate tasks and responsibilities to appropriate personnel.
- Evaluate subcontractors or subcontractor bids for quality, cost, and reliability.
- Develop and deliver progress reports, proposals, requirements documentation, and presentations.
- Monitor work of contractors and subcontractors to ensure projects conform to plans, specifications, schedules, or budgets.
- Build, develop, and grow any business relationships vital to the success of the project.
- Communicate with customers on an ongoing basis.
- Draft and submit budget proposals and recommend subsequent budget changes where necessary.
- Estimate the resources and participants needed to achieve project goals.
- Perform start-up of systems for testing or customer implementation.
- Develop best practices and tools for project execution and management.
- Determine the frequency and content of status reports from the project team, analyze results, and troubleshoot problem areas.
- Track project milestones and deliverables.
- Determine and assess need for additional staff and/or subcontractors and make requests for appropriate recruitments if necessary, during project cycle.
- Plan and schedule project timelines and milestones using appropriate tools.
- Develop full-scale project plans, schedule, and associated communications documents.
- Effectively communicate project expectations to team members in a timely and clear fashion.
- Set and continually manage project expectations with team members and customers.
- Proactively manage changes in project scope, identify potential crises, and devise contingency plans.
- Direct and coordinate project development from beginning to end.
- Where required, negotiate with other department managers for the acquisition of required personnel from within the company.
- Coach, mentor, motivate and supervise project team members and subcontractors, and influence them to take positive action and accountability for their assigned work.
- Define project success criteria and disseminate them to involved parties throughout project life cycle.
- Responsible to create a project close out package and ensure all legal paperwork required has been processed and filed.
- Identify and resolve issues and conflicts within the project team.
- Define project scope, goals and deliverables that support business goals in collaboration with executive management.
Skills and Qualifications
- Knowledge of local, provincial and federal workplace compliance regulations, ordinances and legislation.
- Experience with the Microsoft Office Suite of products including Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint.
- Have oral and written communication expertise which is complimented with a keen eye for detail.
- College diploma or related experience required.
- Ability to read blueprints, schematics, field drawings and plans.
- 1-3 years administration experience, preferably in the construction industry.

Working Conditions
- Lifting or moving up to 20lbs may be required.
- Safety equipment will be required on site, e.g. steel-toed safety boots, safety glasses/goggles, etc.
- Ability to attend and conduct presentations.
- May be exposed to construction sites.
- Travel to the site, and off-site locations may be required.
- Overtime as required.
- Manual dexterity required to use computer and peripherals.
