Job Description

The Good Guides seeks to develop a positive relationship with at-risk communities by connecting with

youth and their families by engaging in social activities. The Good Guides aims to serve our local

community by becoming leaders and working with at-risk youth to become self-motivated, empowered,

and develop strong social skills to encourage them to reach their full potential. We also aim to foster a

therapeutic relationship with these children with a holistic approach to transforming the lives of the

communities in which the youth work from within.


Job Title: Project Coordinator


Job Type: Full-Time (35 HOUR PER WEEK) - ONE YEAR CONTRACT WITH POSSIBILITY OF EXTENSION


Pay Rate: $18.00 - $20.00


Location: Flexible Working Sites (Eglinton East, Golfdale-Cedarbrae-Woburn)


The Good Guides seeks a highly motivated and passionate Project Coordinator to join our team. The

Project Coordinator will plan, implement and lead youth activities' plus be responsible for related tracking,

organization, and reporting of data. The successful candidate will work closely and build relationships with

youth to identify factors related to increased violence and safety risks to themselves, family and

community members. They will work with the project manager/The Good Guides founder to strategize

and organize events, programs or services needed in response to these issues. The candidate will work

with multiple stakeholders as part of this collaborative project and should show strong teamwork,

communication and coordination skills.



The Youth Violence Prevention project is aimed at violence intervention for at-risk youth in Eglinton East

and Golfdale-Cedarbrae-Woburn. With the project, youth will be engaged in social development

programming, mentorship, case management and counselling to provide holistic wrap-around support.

We are targeting the most vulnerable youth at risk of/involved in serious violence and crime.


Responsibilities:


● Collaborate with local high schools to identify youths at risk of violence.

● Organize events/programs/workshops/services that address identified issues.

● Develop and implement youth engagement programs that promote community

involvement and activism.

● Work with community partners and stakeholders to ensure the success of youth

outreach and engagement.

● Provide leadership and guidance to youth ambassadors throughout the planning and

implementation process.

● Coordinate the logistics of events, including venue selection, volunteer recruitment, and

event promotion.

● Maintain accurate records and reports of youth activities and service referrals.

● Evaluate the effectiveness of youth events and programs and make recommendations

for improvement.

● Ensure that all youth activities are safe, inclusive, and respectful of diversity.

PROJECT COORDINATOR




Requirements:


● Experience working with youth in a community-based setting

● Lived experience will be considered in place of post-secondary education

● Excellent organizational and project management skills.

● Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work effectively with youth, community partners,

and stakeholders.

● Demonstrated ability to lead and motivate others.

● Excellent communication skills, both oral and written.

● Knowledge of community resources and youth services.

● Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

● Flexibility to work evenings and weekends as needed.

● Lived experience within the target neighbourhoods and/or youth violence is considered

an asset.

● Current certification in CPR or willingness to become certified
