Our client, a partnership of 12 municipalities - one Electoral Area and one treaty First Nation. That collaboratively plans for and delivers regional-scale services with its core services being drinking water, wastewater treatment and solid waste management, has an immediate need for a Programmer/Analyst . This is a contract position for one (1) year, with a potential to be extended up to (2) two years located in the Burnaby, British Columbia.

Description

Programmer/Analyst in this role will support the IT team with new and existing application initiatives collaborating with our internal Development Team. This position will work alongside Developers, Business Analysts, Database Administrators, and Business Users. This work will typically be performed on-site.

Accountabilities

• Write SQL queries, SSRS Reports, and Stored Procedures.
• Participate in Agile/Scrum and develop User Stories as part of the working team.
• Develop, test and implement technical solutions.
• Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues.
• Perform requirements analysis and create documentations.

Requirements

• Familiarity with software development methodologies and project management principles.
• Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
• At least 3 years of experience in creating SQL queries.
• Establish and maintain effective working relationships with a variety of internal contacts.
• At least 3 years of full stack development in C#.
• Experience with Web API is an asset.
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field, or the equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Perform assigned duties with minimal supervision, although direction will be given with the ability to Maintain confidentiality.
• Provide advice and assistance on matters related to the work.
• Experience with Vue front-end development is a must.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Familiarity with Microsoft Visual Studio 2019 or above.
• Communicate effectively orally and in writing.
• In addition, this position requires the ability to:
• At least 3 years of experience in SQL Server Reporting Services (SSRS) report development.
