Job Description
PROFESSIONAL SERVICES SR PROJECT MANAGER (POSITION REMOTE/ONSITE, CANADA)


This is a Senior Project Manager role. The scope includes leading and managing various routing, switching, cloud, and automation projects, with a committed set of technical resources, against an agreed set of requirements for a specific Canadian customer.


Under the direction of a Project Director, the designated Project Manager will be the primary interface to the Customer, and Juniper’s locally-based consultants, on day-to-day issues and coordination of resources. Engagement will require candidates to control costs, be able to deliver to a budget, and develop concise tangible status reports that are presented on a regular basis and communicated at all levels of the business.


Job Content/Scope


  • Drives and is accountable for delivery to be on time, on budget and agreed upon quality, to defined objectives.
  • Improves existing processes and defines new processes to ensure successful execution and control of the project.
  • Delivers the highest level of customer service to ensure success.
  • Plans and manages a project from initiation through delivery; directing and providing support, and direction to the project team, removing roadblocks and influencing stakeholders.
  • Manages and takes corrective action where necessary to ensure project success.


Deliverables
  • Coordinate all aspects of the migration from planning through completion, including:
  • Establish Resource requirements, & allocation
  • Execute change control, quality, risk management, and communication.
  • Project baselining, monitoring, and corrective action.
  • Communication mechanisms including Project status reports & dashboards, Meeting agendas and minutes, exec reports and presentations
  • Project schedules and dependencies
  • Budget Management


Required Skills & Experience


Technical Skills:


  • Advantageous - Delivery of software and network projects; through the lifecycle, from conception to acceptance leveraging both the Waterfall and Agile methodologies.
  • Essential – Delivery of network solutions into Enterprise and/or Service Provider account
  • Ideal – Juniper Security Products, Network understanding


Experience/Background Desired


  • Project Management Professional (PMP) certification or target date of when this would be obtained
  • Extensive experience in delivering network solutions and an understanding of integration into OSS/BSS/IT in Service Providers and/or Enterprise customers
  • BA/BS degree with 8+ years in a related area or equivalent project management experience
  • Proven history of success in a customer-facing Project Management role at all levels
  • Formal training and/or a Certificate in project management from a university or accredited program is preferred.

  • Proficient using MS Project software as well as Excel, Project PowerPoint, Word, Email and data repository and query tools.

  • Can utilize estimating techniques to improve future project planning

Non-Local Travel - 25% w/1-5 trips domestically each year
