Are you looking to join a company that has a long track record of growth and success? As a member of the Operations team, the Production Supervisor is responsible for monitoring all aspects of the clay brick manufacturing process, including safety, quality, and productivity.


What you’ll be doing:


  • Resolves personnel problems by analyzing data; investigating issues; identifying solutions; recommending action.
  • Maintains a safe workplace by establishing and enforcing organization standards.
  • Maintains quality by establishing and enforcing organization standards.
  • Maintains professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing professional publications; establishing personal networks; benchmarking state-of-the-art practices; participating in professional societies.
  • Maintains safe and clean work environment by educating and directing personnel on the use of all control points, equipment, and resources, maintaining compliance with established policies and procedures.
  • Provides manufacturing information by compiling, initiating, sorting, and analyzing production performance records and data, answering questions and responding to requests.
  • Accomplishes manufacturing staff results by communicating job expectations; planning, monitoring, and appraising job results; coaching, counseling, and disciplining employees; initiating, coordinating, and enforcing systems, policies, and procedures.
  • Maintains workflow by monitoring steps of the process; setting processing variables; observing control points and equipment; monitoring personnel and resources; studying methods; implementing cost reductions; developing reporting procedures and systems; facilitating corrections to malfunctions within process control points; initiating and fostering a spirit of cooperation within and between departments.
  • Creates and revises systems and procedures by analyzing operating practices, record-keeping systems, forms of control, and budgetary and personnel requirements, implementing change.
  • Ensures operation of equipment by calling for repairs, evaluating new equipment and techniques.
  • Maintains working relationship with the union by following the terms of the collective bargaining agreement. - Steel Workers United
  • Completes production plan by scheduling and assigning personnel; accomplishing work results; establishing priorities; monitoring progress; revising schedules; resolving problems; reporting results of the processing flow on shift production summaries.
  • Maintains staff by recruiting, selecting, orienting, and training employees, developing personal growth opportunities.


Requirements


  • High level of integrity and dependability with a strong sense of urgency and results orientation.
  • Knowledge of computer software, i.e., Microsoft Office
  • Conflict resolution
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, mechanical aptitude
  • Minimum 5 years supervisory experience in a manufacturing setting; clay brick manufacturing preferred
  • Supervision of unionized work force would be an asset.
  • Able to communicate effectively, both written and verbally, at all levels of the organization.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead and coach work teams to achieve performance, quality, cost and service goals.
  • Excellent planning, organizational and time management skills
  • Postsecondary education (i.e.. Manufacturing, mechanical, or engineering diploma) or equivalent work experience
  • Critical Thinking
  • Ability to work as part of a diverse and multi-generational team.
  • Self-starter with a high level of initiative and adaptability
