Production Operator - Welder

As a world leader in the design and manufacturing industry, Active Dynamics is seeking an eager and enthusiastic experienced Production Operator – Welder to join our successful Toronto team immediately. We are looking for a talent with solid professional skills in the manufacturing industry.

SUMMARY:

This position reports to the Supervisor of the department. The incumbent ensures both the correct setup and operation of their own equipment including the organization of tooling requirements to meet production demands within the Welding department.

This is a unionized position - Subject to assessment of skills and qualifications by Active following 60 working days.

The pay rate is $21.83

Shift Premium where applicable

We have a Day shift (6:00 am - 2:30 pm) and an Afternoon shift (3:15 pm - 11:45 pm) available

ROLE:

• Notifies the Lead Hand and/or Supervisor(s) of product defects or other serious occurrences
• Operates Welding equipment to meet production demands.
• Performs all duties according to safety standards and company policies
• Any other responsibilities that may be assigned from time to time
• Conducts required quality checks to ensure product is in compliance and in specification
• Performs the setup and tear down of Welding equipment.
• Documents and records all necessary information/data as per work cards and other company requirements
• Performs proper housekeeping, clean-up and 5 S requirements
• Performs equipment operational checks and does basic troubleshooting

DESIRED SKILLS:

• Good mathematical skills
• Manual dexterity – ability to use common tools
• Good interpersonal and communicative skills

REQUIREMENTS:

• Willing to learn
• Ability to meet prescribed production standards
• Experience & knowledge of Welding equipment
• Written and oral aptitude in English
• Conscientious and punctual
• Ability to complete work with a high degree of accuracy
• 1+ year(s) of experience in the Welding department with a basic knowledge of hazards, equipment, machinery, and processes within the Welding area.
• Min. grade 12 or equivalent education
