ArcLab has an immediate opening and is actively recruiting for an aluminum TIG Welder/ Fabricator in Winnipeg, Manitoba. Experienced aluminum TIG welders are strongly encouraged to apply.

Responsibilities:

·Read and interpret welding blueprints, drawings specifications, manuals and processes

·Operate brakes, shears and other metal shaping, straightening and bending machines

·Fit, braze and torch-straighten metal

·Determine weldability of materials

·Operate hoisting and lifting equipment

·Operate previously set-up welding machines to fabricate or repair metal parts and products

·Have a high regard for safety

·Ability to communicate clearly, both verbally and in writing

·Ability to maintain accurate paper based and/or digital records, reports, estimates and perform related tasks

Qualifications and Experience:

·Completion of Grade 12 supplemented by a completed apprenticeship with TIG welding skills and up to five years related journeyman experience OR an equivalent combination of training and experience

·A minimum of 5 years fabrication and aluminum TIG welder related experience is preferred

·Hold a valid Weld certificate or equivalent an asset

•Ability to fit/weld Aluminum is mandatory

•Ability to read and understand manufacturing drawings/prints

•Manufacture and fabricate finished metal products

•Follow drawings to meet product specifications

•Operate manual, electric hand tools, metal shaping machines such as brakes, shears and other metal straightening and bending machines

·Ensure accuracy and completion of assigned tasks and projects

·Ability to work independently in a busy environment

·Highly flexible, with solid interpersonal skills that allow one to work effectively in a diverse working environment

·Able to effectively communicate both verbally and in writing

·Able to work well under pressure

·Demonstrate strong attention to detail

·Able to deal with people sensitively, tactfully, diplomatically, and professionally always.

·Have the physical ability to lift to 50 lbs.

·Maintain safe work practices

·Conduct repairs, modifications, and retrofits

·Ability to successfully clear a Criminal Reference Check

·Must have reliable transportation
