We are currently seeking to hire a talented and experienced Production Manager to lead our dynamic production function at our state-of-the-art processing facility located at 90 Glover RD in Hamilton.About Us:Sierra Supply Chain Services is a leading provider of protein (poultry, beef, pork) solutions to the food processing and distribution sector. With our three locations in Brampton, Hamilton, and Mississauga, we simplify supply chain services and add value to the protein sector.Exciting news! We are expanding our operations with a brand-new 25,000 square foot processing facility in Hamilton. This facility is equipped to handle 200,000 kg of weekly multi-protein grinding and offers daily custom boxing and blast freezing capabilities.About the Role:As the Production Manager, you will play a critical role in leading our manufacturing processes, maximizing production line capacity, and ensuring on-time fulfillment of customer orders. Collaborating closely with the Production Planner, you will work towards achieving key productivity KPIs (kg/l-hr, throughput) while maintaining the highest level of quality. Additionally, you will contribute to Lean Manufacturing projects aimed at continuous improvement and meeting targets.Responsibilities and Key Activities:Operations Management: Process EffectivenessDirect production personnel to execute the production planPrioritize and assign execution on production lines and shiftsReview workload to ensure a balanced and supportive work environmentOversee operations to ensure product specifications are met and provide feedback to the quality and sales teamsMinimize meat waste and losses on the production floorContinuously monitor production processes, identify areas for improvement, and drive development initiativesProductivity Maximization & Yield ManagementReview KPI variances against standards/targetsImplement strategies to improve food mate yieldContribute to operational improvements to enhance KPI targetsAnalyze overtime reports to identify areas for improvement and approve supervisors' overtime requestsDrive efficiency improvements to reduce overtimeReview and control production expenses and monthly expense reportsCollaborate with the GM and Finances to set job labor ratesProduction Planning & Line Throughput UtilizationRegularly monitor and review the production planning scheduleSupport production planning areas to ensure efficiency and effectivenessOptimize labor resources utilization on production lines, minimizing external resource dependency and overtimeFood Safety Compliance & Quality AssuranceEnforce strict adherence to Good Manufacturing Practices, Sanitation, and Safety StandardsImplement and follow all company guidelines regarding GMPs and food safety policiesEnsure compliance with hazard control measures and GMP practicesCollaborate with the Quality Assurance team to maintain systemsAccountable for compliance with food safety and quality programs (e.g., FSEP, HACCP, BRC)Production Team PerformanceProvide leadership, mentoring, oversight, and support to the production teamConduct performance reviews for team members and ensure the team meets day-to-day requirementsHold the production team accountable for achieving company KPIsCoach the supervisor team to reach KPI targets, execute Lean Manufacturing Projects, and assign personnel to production linesAffirmative Action Statement:At Sierra Supply Chain Services, we are committed to equal employment opportunities and celebrate diversity in all its forms.
