Procurement Manager Jobs

We are currently seeking a Procurement Manager for our client in the ICI construction industry. This is a fulltime permanent position with a hybrid (3 days on site) located in Ottawa.

Reporting to the Operations Manager, you will be managing all procurement activities and ensure timely delivery of materials and services while mitigating risk.

Roles and Responsibilities

• Oversee and manage procurement of materials, construction equipment, and services for projects.
• Prepare subcontractor tender packages and scope of work.
• Review tender drawings and specifications, develop sub-trade scopes of work.
• Process packing and delivery slips accurately.
• Manage risk and compliance in procurement activities.
• Liaise with suppliers for technical data sheet maintenance.
• Coordinate with contractors for documentation and verification.
• Monitor and expedite outstanding purchase orders.
• Conduct contract negotiations with suppliers and subcontractors.
• Develop innovative procurement strategies to optimize spending and generate savings.
• Analyze bids received from suppliers and contractors.
• Evaluate and select subcontractors and suppliers.
• Manage inventory to ensure no shortages occur.
• Perform data analysis for procurement-related insights.
• Negotiate and award sub-contracts, prepare contract documents.
• Prepare instructions to bidders and manage tender process.
• Conduct product research and find solutions to product-related issues.

Qualifications and Skills

• Minimum 3 years' experience as a Procurement Manager or 5 years' experience as a Procurement Specialist/ Coordinator in the ICI or construction industry
• Bachelors Degree in Construction, Engineering, or relevant fields, or Technical College Diploma in Construction, or equivalent combination of technical training and/or related experience
• Excellent communication skills both verbal and written
