Reporting to the site supervisor, the Power Systems Electrician Foreman will be responsible for providing support and in-depth knowledge in the field regarding all matters of construction electrical matters to ensure Voltage Power. achieves their general and specific project requirements.

What You Will Do Here

• Provide input relating to the resolution of any design or installation issue.
• Participate in all aspects of substation construction on both brown and green field sites.
• Install and maintain electrical equipment and apparatus in generating stations or powerhouses
• Inspect and test installed electrical equipment and apparatus to locate electrical faults and check their operation, using volt meters, ammeters and other electrical test instruments and equipment
• Read and interpret drawings, circuit diagrams and electrical code specifications to determine wiring layouts for new or existing installations, splice, join and connect wire to fixtures and components to form circuits.
• Troubleshoot and isolate faults in electrical and electronic systems and remove and replace faulty components.
• Complete maintenance reports and ensure paperwork is completed timely and legibly
• Scope and order material for projects and daily work requirements
• Travel to remote locations and work at heights outdoors in all types of weather conditions
• Work with heavy equipment and cranes
• Ensure all electrical installations follow applicable regulations and trade practices.

• Adhere to all company and client health and safety guidelines and regulations
• Test continuity of circuits using test equipment to ensure compatibility and safety of system, and if need be replacing or repair following proper installation guidelines.
• Install, replace, and repair lighting fixtures and electrical control and distribution equipment, such as switches, relays, and circuit breaker panels.
• Install and maintain electrical power distribution equipment such as transformers, generators, voltage regulators, switches, circuit breakers, capacitors, inductors, above/below ground conduit, ground grid, structural steel and fabricate control panels, brackets, and hangers

What You Bring To The Team

• Experience in electrical commercial construction and maintenance
• Willingness to travel and work in remote job locations
• Mechanical strength and manual dexterity with the ability to distinguish colors to work with color-coded wiring
• Knowledge to interpret Canadian electrical code with a high level of mathematical aptitude
• Be a champion of inclusion and diversity
• Exceptional organizational skills with the ability to effectively communicate verbally and written
• Journeyman Electrician and industry related safety certification
• Capable of working at various heights. With the ability to stand, crouch and kneel for long periods of time.
• Ability to work independently and cohesively within groups
• A professional and respectful attitude with a strong customer service focus
