THE POSITION
Keyera is seeking a Journeyman Maintenance Electrician with Low and Medium Voltage experience to join our Maintenance Team in Fort Saskatchewan, Alberta. This exciting new role will support routine maintenance and project work at our growing facility.
Responsibilities
  • Maintain, repair, test and installation of heat trace, VFD’s, UPS, Motors, Transformers, Switchgear and other assorted electrical components.
  • Must be available to work overtime and callouts as required.
  • Keep detailed and accurate maintenance records, materials used and time spent on work requests.
  • Collaborate with maintenance technicians and engineers to understand project requirements and provide expert advice.
  • Implement and promote adherence to safety protocols and best practices, ensuring a safe working environment for yourself and colleagues.
  • Comply with Canadian Electrical Codes and OH&S Standards, safety training requirements and site and corporate safe operating practices.
  • Troubleshoot complex electrical issues and develop efficient solutions to minimize downtime and maximize customer return.
  • Perform routine maintenance as per facility electrical and preventative maintenance programs.
Qualifications
The successful candidate will be well-organized, energetic, and service oriented with the following qualifications:
  • Physically able to perform all components of the position.
  • Self starter who is able to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Minimum five (5) years’ experience with industrial electrical work – preference will be given to those with previous industrial maintenance experience.
  • MAXIMO knowledge would be an asset.
  • Understanding of the Canadian Electrical Code and Occupational Health & Safety Codes.
  • Exceptional troubleshooting skills, with the ability to think critically and act decisively in complex situations.
  • Able to work in seasonal weather conditions.
  • Highly organized, reliable individual with attention to detail.
  • Experience with 480 volt and 4160 volt equipment.
  • Electrical Journeyman Certification with Low and Medium Voltage experience with switch gear, motors, MMC’s and VFD’s.
