Power Systems Maintenance Engineer Jobs

You have over 10 years of experience in software development (Rust/C++)

You have experience working with languages/technologies including Rust, C++, Go, Vue, Kubernetes, Docker, or the like within a distributed IoT environment

You have experience in containerization and distributed systems such as cloud services, architectures, and containerized deployments

You have knowledge of electric power industry, distribution/transmission systems, Distributed Energy Resources, and/or microgrids

You have experience with Industrial IoT/on-premise compute resources and utility vendor control equipment

You have applied knowledge in cyber security design and development

Two years’ experience in a high pressure plant (steam) and associated equipment.

Interprovincial Second Class Power Engineer License.

Travel to other sites may be required. Valid Driver's License and access to a reliable vehicle is required

Must be able to work independently

Competencies in other languages an asset, French preferred

Electrical Power Systems Engineer - open to new grads to experienced engineers

Minimum of 8 years of work experience in the electrical industry

Minimum of 5 years of work experience power systems

Experience with protective relays is highly desirable

Experience using Power System modelling packages like SKM, ETAP, EazyPower, CYME etc

Advanced experience in multi-function protection relays setting files and logic files.

Certificate of competency as a 4th Class Power Engineer recognized by the Province of British Columbia.

Write technical documents such as test procedure, test reports, assembly instructions, interface requirements, certification reports and other certification related documents

Define technical and certification requirements and architecture for systems, starting at the conceptual design phase

Experience in environmental testing and certification process of aircraft hardware (i.e. EMI/EMC testing, Vibration, etc)

Manage outsourced development in electronic components, electrical assemblies, and software

Draft electrical wiring diagrams and schematics, supporting the demonstration of compliance for certification

9+ years of experience in the aerospace, automotive, or rail industry, in electrical & electronic systems design, integration, and testing

Bachelors degree in Electrical Engineering and 3+ years of post education professional experience OR a Master's Degree in Power Systems Engineering

Specific knowledge and experience in power distribution systems up to 44kV

Specific knowledge of electrical protection and control systems

Knowledge and Application of the Canadian Electrical Code and the Workplace Electrical Safety Standard, CSA Z462-2021

Project leadership and execution skills

Knowledge of system simulation software: PSSe, CYME

Knowledge of dynamic analysis: system stability, machine start-up, machine control

Knowledge of machine controls: control settings, transfer function, control schematic

At least 2 years of experience in the power systems industry

7 years of technical sales and/or fleet management experience in a related field.

Works with Industry Manager and Rental Operation manager on annual fleet CAPEX and disposal requirements based on market trends.

Works with Fleet Reliability Manager on managing overall fleet health, equipment maintenance, equipment certification & repair.

Works with Industry Manager & Rental Operations Manager to liquidate aged & underperforming fleet to maximize best return.

Works with Industry Manager & Rental Operations Manager to investigate and analyze new innovative products within their respective product groups.

Works with Renal Sales Manager to develop and maintain a sales training program within their respective product group.

Scope and order material for projects and daily work requirements

Travel to remote locations and work at heights outdoors in all types of weather conditions

Journeyman Electrician and industry related safety certification

Experience in electrical commercial construction and maintenance

Exceptional organizational skills with the ability to effectively communicate verbally and written

Knowledge to interpret Canadian electrical code with a high level of mathematical aptitude

Knowledge in power system software (e.g. CYME, EMTP).
