Job Description

Tremco Construction Products Group brings together Tremco CPG Inc.'s Commercial Sealants & Waterproofing and Roofing & Building Maintenance divisions; Tremco Barrier Solutions Inc.; Dryvit, Nudura and Willseal brands; Prebuck LLC; Weatherproofing Technologies, Inc.; Weatherproofing Technologies Canada and PureAir Control Services, Inc. Altogether, Tremco CPG companies operate 21 manufacturing facilities, 6 distribution sites, and 3 R&D/technology sites, and employ more than 2,700 people across North America.

The plant manager is responsible for all day-to-day plant operations, from health and safety to manufacturing, including quality and costs. They must ensure that security policies, procedures and directives are followed. Implement and develop processes that will maximize safety, quality, productivity, and compliance. They must ensure the execution of the supply chain to the finished products to meet the different objectives of the manufacturing facility.

CORE DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Responsible for plant operations, including supervision of supervisors and administrative staff. Plant areas may include Maintenance, Production, Shipping, and Quality Control.
  • Oversee the plant's health and safety program. Ensure that safety standards are understood and respected.
  • Ensure proper reporting is made: Incidents, production issues, customer requests, etc.
  • Leading the manufacturing team to operational excellence through the MS-168 Operational Excellence System.
  • Demonstrate a commitment to diversity in hiring and promotion decisions.
  • Coordinate with quality control and R&D the development of new products and testing protocols.
  • Assist in internal troubleshooting and investigation of customer complaints and requests.
  • Review and implement new procedures and processes.
  • Develop strategies that ensure the effective achievement of lean production targets.
  • Conduct annual performance evaluations and provide continuous feedback on performance, maintaining clear and timely documentation.
  • Ensure that order processing issues are addressed in full.
  • Understand and optimize budget utilization, while remaining accountable for the plant's financial performance. They are responsible for the annual budgeting and quarterly forecasting processes.
  • Recommend and work collaboratively with the manager on plant capital expenditures.
  • Analyze maintenance status reports and participate in machine troubleshooting, ensuring that all machines meet safety standards.
  • Complete compliance reports and schedule annual maintenance, inspections, audits, and projects.
  • Optimize inventory and organization, including supervision of parts, supplies and raw materials.
  • Work with senior management to ensure manufacturing objectives are aligned with strategic direction.
  • Ensure that the plant operates in compliance with all legislative, regulatory and safety requirements, as well as company mandates.
  • Organize external services and subcontractors as needed.

EDUCATION and EXPERIENCE

  • In leu of a 4-year degree, 3 years or more of managing a medium-sized plant (50+ employees).
  • 7 years' experience and/or training in the relevant field.
  • Bachelor's degree, Engineering and Business (Preferred).

· Experience in team operations.

OTHER SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

· Must be bilingual (English and French).

The candidate must also possess the following characteristics:

  • Knowledge of safety, environmental and workplace regulations. (preferred)
  • Lean Six Sigma (required)
  • Knowledge of principles and procedures for staff recruitment, selection and training, compensation and benefits, labor relations and negotiation techniques. (preferred)
  • Knowledge of management and business principles related to strategic planning, resource allocation, leadership techniques, production methods and coordination of people and resources. (Required)
  • Ability to assess a situation and mediate to achieve a constructive outcome. (required)
  • SAP (preferred)
  • Computer knowledge: Ability to use Excel, Word and SAP applications for day-to-day work responsibilities. (required)

BENEFITS AND COMPENSATION:

· The salary range for applicants in this position generally ranges between $116,100 and $145,120. This range is an estimate, based on potential employee qualifications, operations, needs, and other considerations permitted by law.
