The incumbent is responsible for friendly, efficient service following all Algonquin College Food Services operating standards, policies, and procedures.
To provide friendly and efficient counter service and food production while maintaining hygienic work area. The incumbent will assist in stocking and cleaning of area tools when necessary.
Duties And Responsibilities
Counter Service Assistant

• Stocks product, sweeps area, empties garbage, and washes location dishes when required;
• Serves on food line and operates cash register as required.
• Prepares food in an efficient and friendly manner as per customer request while ensuring a clean and sanitized work area;

Required Qualifications

• Ability to lift, bend, push, pull and stock a variety of merchandise;
• Secondary School (Grade 12) diploma or equivalent;
• Ability of providing speedy, efficient, courteous and tactful service;
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skill;
• Experience handling cash if applying for cashier positions an asset;
• Ability to work effectively under pressure;
• Knowledge in kitchen sanitation and safety standards an asset.
• Ability to work independently and/or in a team atmosphere;

Tuesday and Friday 4:00PM to 10:00PM
Saturday and Sunday 10:30AM to 5:00PM
P17281 (Part Time Counter Service Assistant)
Wednesday and Thursday: 5:00PM to 10:30PM
Saturday: 1:00PM to 8:00PM
Sunday: 5:00PM to 10:30PM

These positions are 8-months per year positions with an annual seasonal layoff up to four (4) months.
Located within 35th Street Market Café, Booster Juice and Bits 'n Bytes.
