About The Role


Our Sephora Collection brand is evolving, and so is our team ! As the Merchant, Sephora Collection, you will be responsible for implementing and driving Sephora Collection merchandising strategies and achieving the financial targets – including sales, productivity and gross margin. You will also help support the Sephora Collection brand strategy in Canada under the leadership of the Director of Sephora Collection.


What You’ll Do


  • Partner with the Director and Field Sales Manager to develop annualized store sales planning
  • Lead localized assortment and fixture/planogram planning and implementation with internal partners
  • Foster a work environment that embodies the Sephora values
  • Lead and develop an Assistant Merchant
  • Analyze and handle all elements of the brand to identify areas of opportunity across all categories
  • Forecast new product launches with effective Canadian pricing and implement end-of-life solutions for discontinued SKUs in partnership with planning team, while effectively managing margin target
  • Communicate brand priorities, opportunities and key product launches to Sephora Collection education and field sales teams
  • Lead all aspects of the brand activation calendar and implement animations, promotions, and activations in collaboration with North America Sephora Collection team, US merchants, marketing and field sales teams
  • Sales reporting on new product launch performance, weekly/monthly sales recaps, executive reporting and other adhoc reporting needs based on the business needs
  • Develop and lead strong relationships with Global and North America Sephora Collection teams to identify localized opportunities that increase sales and limit inventory liabilities
  • Partner with Global and North America Sephora Collection teams and Sephora Canada Compliance team to ensure Sephora Collection products are in accordance with all required Canadian product regulations and meet product registration and all compliance standards
  • Own the quarterly Sephora Collection category brand review with executive team


What You’ll Bring


  • You have some knowledge of the Canadian cosmetic industry and corresponding Health Canada regulations and requirements for product compliance in Canada
  • You have an entrepreneurial spirit, thrive in a fast-paced and dynamic environment, and relish in working collaboratively with cross-functional groups
  • Ability to travel within North America and internationally
  • Ability to develop brand and category strategies
  • A passion to drive the Sephora Collection brand through strong financial and strategic savviness, with distinct point of view on product
  • You're technically savvy and know your way around Excel
  • You love tackling problems and using your analytical skills to find solutions
  • Experience leading and developing a direct report
  • You understand the Canadian marketplace and corresponding vendor organization
  • Fluently bilingual in both French and English (written and spoken) is an asset
  • You've mastered the art of communication and negotiation
  • 4+ years of experience working for a brand, within merchandising or sales
  • You love product (beauty is your jam!), understand consumer trends and behaviour, and inspire fearlessness in everything that you do
