Material Handler - Order Fulfillment

Norwood Sawmills, a leading manufacturer of portable sawmills and related forestry equipment, is seeking a Material Handler - Order Fulfillment to join our team. The Material Handler will be responsible for safely and efficiently operating a forklift to move materials, products, and equipment throughout the warehouse while also assisting in order fulfillment tasks.

Responsibilities

Forklift Operations

• Safely operate a forklift to transport materials and products within the warehouse
• Adhere to safety guidelines and best practices to prevent accidents and injuries
• Load and unload trucks, containers, and shelves using the forklift
• Inspect and maintain the forklift to ensure it is in proper working condition

Order Fulfillment

• Complete necessary paperwork, such as shipping labels, packing slips, and order documentation
• Pick and pack products according to order specifications, ensuring items are correctly labeled and packaged
• Organize and stage completed orders for shipping or delivery, maintaining order and cleanliness in the staging area
• Look for new ways to improve efficiency, packaging quality, inspections/quality-control, preservation of part quality and improve safety, and communicate to superiors your suggestions
• Interact fellow Norwood team members, customers, and suppliers in a positive, constructive, courteous, timely and professional manner
• Perform such other duties that may be assigned as required
• Efficiently package Customer and Dealer orders to protect them from damage during transportation

Requirements

• Attention to detail and accuracy in order picking, packing, and documentation
• Valid forklift operator certification
• Strong understanding of warehouse operations and order fulfillment processes
• Basic computer skills to navigate warehouse management systems and related software
• Valid Reach Truck certification, an assist
• Excellent communication skills.
• Proven experience operating a forklift in a warehouse or manufacturing setting
• Ability to lift and move up to 50 pounds
• High school diploma or equivalent
