Position Title: Manufacturing Engineer/Technologist
Reports To: Engineering Manager
Location: Windsor, ON, Canada
Summary Of Position
The Manufacturing Engineer or Technologist will be responsible for developing 3D part models supporting various machining processes, including tooling and fixtures.
The Manufacturing Engineer/Technologists is in Northstar’s Engineering Department, and reports to the Engineering Manager. The position works with all levels of employees throughout the organization as necessary to facilitate engineering departmental goals. This is a full time position.
Essential Duties And Responsibilities
The essential duties and responsibilities of this position are listed below. This list is not all inclusive and may be amended by Northstar, from time to time.
Develops 3D models to enhance theoretical concepts to practical applications within the manufacturing environment
Responsible for the design and implementation of various tooling modifications to improve production efficiency and meet continuous improvement goals
Responsible to produce standard work instructions and setup sheets where applicable
Actively participates within the ECR process to ensure all changes are documented prior to implementation
Continuous interaction and cooperation between Engineering and Operations as well as other disciplines within the organization
Actively participates within the New Product Introduction process, specifically the development of PFMEA’s
Responsible to maintain the ENG Opens Issues document, identifying appropriate tasks to completion in a timely manner
Supervisory Responsibilities
This position will not have supervisory responsibilities.

Frequent sitting, standing, walking, talking, hearing, seeing, writing, and typing
Occasional lifting of up to 40 pounds
Occasional reaching, climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, pushing, pulling, fingering, grasping, feeling, twisting, bending and repetitive motion
Frequent exposure to moving mechanical parts, fumes, or airborne particles
Frequent exposure to moderate to heavy noise
The ability to wear proper personal protective equipment, including earplugs, safety glasses, safety shoes, etc.
Qualifications And Experience Required
Education Required: Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering or Engineering Technology Diploma
Experience Required: 3-5 years’ experience in relevant field
Must have experience with 3D modeling
Knowledge, Skills And Abilities Required And/Or Preferred

Strong communication skills
Excellent problem solving skills
Proficiency with computer applications, specifically MS Office, MS Project, Computer Aided Design(NX and AutoCad) and various ERP software programs
Knowledge of standard machining practices including GD&T
Must possess proven capability & initiative to function in a high-technology environment
Ability to interface with administration, management, and customers
