Position Title: Manager, Risk & Controls (Manager, Internal Audit – Risk & Controls)
Team and Location: Risk & Controls – Calgary, Alberta
Minimum Starting Salary from: $ 119,800/year
Position Summary:
As a leader in Parkland’s Risk and Control function, you will focus on Internal Audit and support the business in continuing to deliver successfully against its strategy. You will be expected lead the delivery of a portfolio of assurance and advisory projects that elevate and promote effective risk management across Parkland’s Canadian, US and International operations.
We believe that both our team and the business benefit from the integration of projects, Internal Audit works closely with Enterprise Risk Management, C-SOX and Commercial Assurance. You will support the ongoing integration of these functions to provide a broad based and insightful assurance and advisory service and help us maintain our reputation for delivery excellence.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Work as One Parkland across 25 diverse countries and help shape our company by supporting Diversity & Inclusion
  • Listen and respond effectively to organisational feedback and help build a team that prioritizes enhancing Parkland’s risk management capability
  • Prepare and present the outcome of the team’s work to Parkland’s Senior Leadership
  • Reporting to the Director, Risk & Controls oversee delivery of a portfolio of internal audits using internal Parkland staff augmented with co-source service providers
  • Use Parkland’s BOLD behaviours (Build, Own, Lead, Deliver) to provide value back to Parkland and lead team and individual development through mentoring, supervision and development support
  • Develop strong relationships with business stakeholders and advocate for Internal Audit and the ongoing enhancement of Parkland’s risk management culture
  • Ensure teams operate in accordance with the Institute of Internal Auditors’ (IIA) International Standards and Parkland’s Internal Audit Methodology
Qualifications and Skills:
  • While travel is not a core requirement at this time, willingness to visit Parkland locations across Canada, US and the Caribbean is an asset.
  • Familiarity with Downstream Oil and Gas and Retail / Convenience Store operations an asset
  • Track record in successfully managing Internal Audit teams and projects and overseeing internal audit delivery both as a team manager and individual contributor
  • Over 12 years of internal or external auditing experience, with at least 4 years at a manager level
  • Desire to work in a high-performing team in an adaptive environment
  • A professional designation (CPA, CA, CMA, CGA, CIA, CISA)
  • Ability to work effectively with Finance, IT, Legal & Regulatory and Operational teams to deliver a variety of Internal Audit projects
  • Familiarity with business and technology transformation initiatives an asset
  • Ability to build proficient relationships within the team as well as within the business
