As ATB Investment Management (ATBIM)'s next Senior Analyst, Internal Controls, you are part of a team focused on creating a risk aware culture within ATBIM that will enable risk-informed decision making by identifying and documenting risks and control activities for significant financial and operational processes. You will work closely with the various ATBIM process owners to review, update and test the internal controls for ATBIM's processes along all its lines of business. You will also be engaged in providing support to the ATBIM Risk Manager in the maintenance of ATBIM's Business Continuity Plan, Business Impact Assessment, writing of Risk & Control summary reports, maintenance of various risk records, and performing followup with ATBIM's process owners.

You are a quick learner and have proficient interpersonal and communication skills as much of your work will require you to work extensively with the other ATBIM business units to gather information and insights. Strong organizational and multi-tasking skills are a must as there are many competing priorities, often under pressing timelines.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist with coordinating the identification and documentation of the risks to ATBIM's processes and the design and effectiveness of the related controls by assessing their design, understanding how any gaps or issues identified impact ATBIM's business
• Maintain various risk records and reports summarizing results of analysis and sample testing in reports to assist the ATBIM Risk & Compliance team with measuring, monitoring and reporting risk assessment information to ATBIM's process owners using standardized templates
• Perform the necessary tasks for the maintenance of the Business Impact Analysis and the Business Continuity plan for ATBIM
• Document and present test results and findings to ATBIM Risk Manager
• Participate in the planning and determination of the scopes for the Risk & Control Assessment and Regulatory Control Management programs
• Execute testing of internal controls
• Collaborate and enhance professional relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including internal business process owners, Enterprise Risk Management, Operational Risk Management, Internal Assurance, and external auditors

Key Support Activities

• Support the ATBIM Risk Manager by participating on various special projects to evaluate effectiveness of business processes and make recommendations for improvement
• Provide support in the monitoring and remediation of operating and design gaps or issues, including obtaining updates from management to document remediation actions taken and entering these into our Governance Risks and Controls (GRC) M7 system

Requirements

Core Skills:

• Metrics reporting and data reporting, visualization and dashboarding tools
• Solid verbal and written communication skills across full range of audiences
• Desire to train across risk and compliance disciplines with progressively advanced responsibilities
• Ability to build and maintain strong relationships and effective partnerships with a wide range of internal and external stakeholders
• Ability to devise creative, workable solutions within established policies
• Active listening and stakeholder and relationship management

Accreditation

• Proficiency with Google Suite Applications (Mail, Calendar, Drive, Sheets, Docs, etc.).
• Minimum of 2 years experience with control testing and/or audit
• Minimum of 2 years of industry risk & compliance experience; experience with a Portfolio Management firm and/or Investment Fund Manager preferred
• Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience
• Experience with MetricStream M7 GRC (Governance, Risk, and Compliance) or other GRC tools is an asset.
