Description

Our client is a producing mine that is engaged in the operation, acquisition, exploration, and development of mineral properties in Latin America, with a primary focus on silver and zinc, but also including lead and copper. The Company has six producing mines. Bolivar, Porco and the Caballo Blanco Group, which consists of the Tres Amigos, Reserva and Colquechaquita mines are in Bolivia, along with the Soracaya exploration project and San Lucas are sourcing and trading business. The Zimapan mine is in Mexico.

Responsibilities

They are looking for an experienced full-time Manager, Financial Reporting to join their Accounting & Finance team. Reporting to the Corporate Controller, the individual will be responsible for the following corporate accounting functions:

• Manage the financial reporting process including providing support and guidance to mine site accounting staff in Bolivia and Mexico to independently resolve issues and review reporting packages provided by the sites;
• Coordinate with the Company’s external auditors, tax advisors, and various other service providers;
• Support the preparation of annual Canadian tax returns;
• Ad hoc duties and tasks as assigned by the Corporate Controller.
• Prepare and manage quarterly and annual consolidated financial statements and MD& A;
• Support the preparation of the consolidated tax provision;
• Prepare accounting memos for new and/or complex transactions;
• Prepare the group consolidation, and supporting working papers;

Requirements

Qualifications and Experience:

• Fluency in both English and Spanish required
• Chartered Professional Accountant designation (CPA) designation required
• Minimum of 10 years experience post CPA designation
• 3+ years of industry experience with a publicly traded mining company;
