Maintenance Helper Jobs

Provide support tasks to assist maintenance technicians with unscheduled and scheduled maintenance activities, new installations, and building maintenance. The maintenance helper must utilize their experiences to learn more complex tasks on an ongoing basis.

• Employee may be exposed to dust, hazardous chemicals and high levels of noise.
• Good communications skills.
• Read and interpret work orders, instructions, as well as basic understanding of drawings and blueprints.
• Repetitive tasks within a fast-paced environment.
• Attention to detail and organized.
• Employees are required to work in environments requiring personal protective equipment (including eye protection, foot protection, hearing protection, industrial gloves, etc.)
• Proven mechanical aptitude and skill set.
• Maintenance of a variety of machines and tools with limited supervision.
• Clean work areas and equipment.
• Grade 12 completion or equivalent.
• Move tools, equipment and other materials.
• Physical Demands include lifting, pulling, walking, carrying, pushing, standing, sitting, reaching
• Adhere to Lean manufacturing practices.
• Demonstrated ability to work with limited supervision.
• Perform miscellaneous labour activities to help tradespersons, apprentices and other workers as directed.
• Mental Demands include reading documents/schematics, reading instruments, detailed work, problem solving, verbal and written communication.
