Must be good with tape measure and have basic math skills

Work on a bus route and local

Use on hand, power tools, hoists and cranes

Use different forms of measurement - calipers, micrometers, etc

Familiarity with basic light passenger vehicle maintenance i.e. fluid check/replenish, lights, wipers, tire inflation and rotation.

Familiarity with hybrid, electric and gas vehicles

Schedule routine maintenance and tire repairs

Perform pre-trip and post trip inspection review and coordinate required out-source repairs.

A licensed mechanic would be considered an asset but not required for this position.

Part-time hours: 20 per week

Employee Benefits (after 3 months)

Assist with routine maintenance and projects.

Supports Operations with; driving shuttles, snowmobiles, and OHVs, freight pickups and deliveries, washing company vehicles and other duties as required.

Shoveling of snow around entrances and buildings.

Assist with Wedding and Events set ups and tear downs.

Assist with other departments as needed.

A person with a lot of mechanical knowledge

Daily cleaning and maintenance of turners, screens and conveying equipment.

Daily cleaning of accumulation around all screens.

Ensure that the facility and work areas are kept clean and organized.

Clean up outside around bins and screen while system is running.

System Mechanical and Electronics (PLC’s) repairs.

Relevant certifications and extensive work experience in fleet management will also be considered.

Budgeting and financial management skills to monitor expenses and control costs.

Proven experience as a Fleet Maintenance Manager or a similar role, preferably in a transportation, logistics, or fleet-based industry.

Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and manage a diverse team of maintenance technicians.

Proficiency in using fleet management software, maintenance tracking tools, and computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS).

In-depth knowledge of vehicle and equipment maintenance, repair practices, and preventive maintenance programs.

Proven mechanical aptitude and skill set.

Perform miscellaneous labour activities to help tradespersons, apprentices and other workers as directed.

Maintenance of a variety of machines and tools with limited supervision.

Move tools, equipment and other materials.

Read and interpret work orders, instructions, as well as basic understanding of drawings and blueprints.

Clean work areas and equipment.

Previous experience working in, or as a supplier to, the railway industry is an asset.

Railcar Storage Administration – Track cars in storage, accrue monthly charges and submit invoicing for payment once verified accurate.

General Stakeholder and Affiliate Reporting - Provide weekly/monthly/annual Fleet operation reports as required to Other Business Units and Union Tank Car.

Experience working in an industrial, manufacturing environment.

Basic electrical understanding and knowledge.

Washing all trucks and trailers;

Must have CMMS knowledge and be familiar with Building Automation Systems, pneumatic and DDC controls.

Must have experience with a wide range of mechanical, electrical, controls, life safety/fire safety equipment.

Experience working in a Unionized Environment will be considered an asset.

Completion of other tasks as assigned by the Chief Engineer.

Has to be able to work independently with minimum supervision.

Special consideration will be given to individuals with specific training in Johnson Controls BAS equipment.

Knowledge of HR legislation to monitor and manage employees, including experience in the application of collective agreement provisions.

What Skills and Qualifications Do I Need?

Demonstrated experience managing and administering railway/transit maintenance programs and contracts.

Certifications, License or Designations in PMP, P. Eng. or similar, Active membership or accreditation in PEO, PMI, or similar association.

Experience in various project delivery methods, including tendered contracts, Public Private Partnerships / AFP delivery.

Maintain required records, reports, statistics, in accordance with policies and legislative requirements

3-5 years experience working as a ‘jack of all trades’ in a heavy industrial environment

Previous work experience with conveyor systems, balers and compaction equipment

Experience welding and cutting including some fabrication

Basic electrical understanding and knowledge
