Position Summary

Reporting to the Associate General Counsel, your primary duties would include assisting with general commercial matters, including, but not limited to, the drafting and negotiating of services, new product and technology-related agreements, including master services agreements, partnership agreements, confidentiality agreements, business associate agreements, SaaS agreements, data protection agreements, software licenses, subcontractor agreements, supplier agreement, and related statements of work.
Required Skills And Experience
  • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail
  • Experience independently negotiating complex business transactions on deadlines
  • Flexibility to assist the Legal Department in its activities and its mission as needs arise
  • 3-5 years of experience
  • JD and active member of an applicable law society or a U.S. state bar
  • Persuasive, influential and collaborative
  • Self-starter/ability to work independently/solutions driven
  • Experience and interest in process improvement, legal tech and prompt engineering an asset
  • Demonstrated capacity to actively solve complicated legal and business problems
  • Keen judgement, integrity and tact
  • Strong client service orientation
  • Strong written and verbal communication
Preferred Experience
  • Canadian and U.S. information privacy compliance
  • Canadian and U.S. health care regulatory compliance (with a focus on HIPAA, PHIPA and provincial equivalents)
  • Health care information technology licensing
  • SaaS licensing
